1. ive found it incredibly hard to get a band off the ground which ive been working on for over a year and its seriously begun to get me down, ive found i end up with the same group of people i know, but they are not always reliable and keeps the whole thing on a constant depressing cycle. finding new fish for the pond often seems difficult or impossible. i try and be as open as possible with people, the only thing i ask for is people to have their own transport and half decent gear, which i don't think is much to ask. i find i end up getting people respond who don't have one of or either of the above, or are completely inappropriate. for example, i put adds up for a band based on feeder, biffy clyro etc.. i end up getting people who are wanting to play trivium and bullet for my valentine responding... i mean wtf? ive just given up now, im mentally drained by it all and feel like im wasting my time and effort on it
2.
f***ing hell! That's an amazing gesture from 13! Massive hat tip! Very encouraging too, for a number of reasons. The pictures present quite a challenge this month, this will be a lot of fun!
quite, there is going to have to be some interesting entries to cover those photo's
3.
Maybe it will be next months picture
don't think the screen resolution can handle the size of it if im honest
4. if you took the death star, and times it by another deathstar, it would be that.... if it goes wrong it will be more like a rusty droid
5. it won't be long..... just huge!
6. ive got some ideas for this months tune... if i can pull it off... it will be huge
7. this could be a very interesting month
8. ive found keeping a band together to have become a much harder prospect than it used to be, i haven't been in a proper band for over a year now just cos finding people who stick together seems to be so hard. nice one on getting back in a band you were settled with, the buzz of being in a band thats doing something is amazing
9. ive tried various different set ups through the years, ive gone from using no effects, to lots of effects, multi effects and now i have what i think is my settled board set up. i use individual stop boxes rather than multieffects, i think you can be a bit more creative, but thats me. i currently run a sansamp driver/di, distortion, delay, reverb and tuner, but i do have a flanger, over drive and compression pedal i can throw in if i really need them
10. i wanna get writing for this month
11. so when is the winner announced? tonight or tommorrow?
12. ive already voted if you tie votes, i think a tie breaker question might be in order
13. mine be this one http://soundcloud.com/rockfordstone i have a couple of tracks up so far
14. i certainly wasn't expecting a vote... thank you whoever that was
15.
If it's anything like over here, as long as your wing mirrors are unobstructed you don't need to be able to see out of the rear view (as of course most vans are). I've got one of these: Fits four band members plus full kit comfortably (with the option of two more passengers if you fold the rear seats back down again), blacked-out rear windows as standard, insured as a car rather than as a van which (for me) worked out considerably cheaper. Downsides are that they're heavy on juice (think 10miles/litre tops, but for an old 2.8 diesel it could be worse) and are comparatively rare so parts might be hard to come by (although as I understand they share a lot of bits with the Mitzi Pajero which are a lot more common).
i used to do my moving in a ford ranger pick up truck with a covered bed, i could fit a whole kit, combo amps, guitars and breakables in it without hassle. it had an obstructed rear view mirror, but the side mirrors were huge now i put all my gear in a vectra
16. i did a quick noodle to add for this month if you want rick, its pretty sh*t but i only did it to give me a practice so i can do next months one properly http://soundcloud.com/rockfordstone/stand-my-ground im not fussed about being entered into this months runnings, there are a lot of better offerings than this anyway but up to you mate
17. so i had a quick go on something based upon the photo i did it very quickly, its pretty naff, but i thought id have a practice at something then go at it a bit more hardcore next month http://soundcloud.com/rockfordstone/stand-my-ground
