2. I had one of these in a past life. if I was looking for a backup bass instead of spending all of my money on more mundane crap I'd be having this. Great bass for the price. Bump

Fave guitar solo?

OOOOOH ... it would have to be the opening 2 minutes of "Power to Love", by Jimi Hendrix. It's on the "Band of Gypsys" live album ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVkzLQ9dTHc
5. Just bought a pedal from Colin. Good guy to deal with ... Good communication, prompt delivery, very helpful with questions. Bueno!
6. Good advice .... gracias!

8. That's cool, thanks. It's more for recording purposes to be honest. I'm producing some (home made) dub at the mo'. I'd prefer the sub bass to come from my bass guitar and not a synth. I hadn't counted on trying to play it live through my microbass ... but yeah, you're right.
9.
Your 150 Watt 1x12 can produce an E below low E? Wow Si
No. I play a 4 string bass ... I won't be going to low B.
10. So, I take it the OC-3 tracks a low E ok then? ... I won't be going any lower than that.
11. How good is the tracking with the boss octave pedals? I'd like to hear your opinions, as I'm thinking about getting one. Thanks in advance.
12. The thumb basses with ovankol necks are classy looking beasties, indeed.
13. When I was 16 my best freind bought an electric guitar so I bought a bass for jamming purposes. it was an easy choice to make as I was big into the Red hot Chilli Peppers, and loving the sound of the newly breaking Jamiroquai. Flea and Stuart Zender were the first bassists to put the spark in my head and inspire funk in my fingers.
14. My first ever bass was a Sunn Mustang p-bass. It was great! ... better than the more expensive bass I replaced it with. Have a nostalgic bump on me.
15. Aye, I power it with a standard (boss type) 9v psu. so it works on the daisy chain. It takes 9v battery.
16. Just had the nice surprise of finding an old cheapo Rocktek phr -01 phaser that belonged to a guitarist I knew with about 15 years ago. So, I've been experimenting. As a phaser it's nothing special on its own, but it does wonderful things post-distortion, and pre-envelope filter. It sounds huge. especially with the distortion. I'm surprised at how clean and thick it sounds. It is a little loud however, and the build quality is awful. Just posting as I love this crappy wee pedal now. You can buy these on the bay as cheap as chips. Go on! for the price of three pints you can have yourself a wee gem!

18. Trace Ellliot SMX Dual Compressor Classic dual compression pedal. In good working order and cosmetic condition ... only a couple of tiny wee chips in the paintwork, and one of the buttons is slightly sticky. The pedal is in the original box, includes 18v power supply, and manual (photocopied). Review and product description ... 19. Is it just me or did anyone else think that Jah Wobble looked a bit deliverence-esque in the death disco clip?

23. The one bass that I sold, that I should never have let go of, and that I regretted most was my 1981 Aria SB-900 fretless. The story ends well though ... Ten years ago I traded it in on a whim for something I shouldn't have. It bugged me for a decade. Last month though, whilst in a random part of Scotland, by chance, I went to see a guy who had advertised an old SB on Gumtree. I couldn't tell from the grainy wee photo exactly which model it was, the guy didn't know either. I went along and had a look anyway ... Lo' and behold, it was my old bass!!! complete with the ding in the laquer where I dropped a plate on it whilst clumsily eating peanut butter on toast an age ago! I was similtaneously in a state of shock and delight. One of the switches is broken but other than that it's in much the same condition as when I let it go. The fella was asking for less money than I traded it in for ... a mere £230! Needless to say, It is now very happily re-united with its rightful owner I'm loving to play its solid silky mwahness again. The nicest fretless that I've ever played. I'm soooooo happy about it! Does anyone have a bass that they particularly lament parting with, or a similar story to mine about winning it back? Please tell ....
