1. I am hoping that on the London Bass show in March, MarkBass will have this amp available to try, I am very curious to hear what it sounds like.
 2. Check out the specs http://www.markbass.it/product_detail.php?id=183
 3. The votes speaks for themselves.
 4.
I believe the Taliban use the forum in their training.
Class!
 5.
Depends on the insurer. I've banked with the Co-Op for yonks and got a quote from them last year for house insurance & asked about musical instrument cover out of the house. I was pleasantly surprised to get a "Yes" to the question "So if I'm playing in a pub & someone pours a pint of Guinness over my amp & it blows up, am I covered?". Ditto for having a bass nicked while at a gig. Works out about £13/month for household plus instrument cover. Pete.
Sounds like the ideal solution and peace of mind too. my basses are often travelling to and from rehearsal and venues and one of my biggest worry is of one of them being half pinched while I am loading a cab in the boot of the car or something.
 6.
I use Musicguard They offer great cover with all sorts off optional extras! perfect for my circumstances
7. do you do it under the house content clause or do you take private insurance?
 8.
Hi, anyone have any advice on this bass, found one for a good price, as new, should i be aware of any probs with it, or should i just buy a spanking new one?
EB has a lot of limited editions, is this the Dargie green colour one? or what is it particular about it, is it the sparkly blue burst colour? got any pics? They should be very good basses, and ED Friedland rated another Limited the HH in one of his videos.... as shown below, but remember even a plank with one string will sound good in his hands:
 9.
I'll take the strap for £10 if its still available.
Thank you Dave it's yours, congrats.
 10. what is it? which 5 strings have you bought?
 11.
He means a Squier VM Jazz 77.
Oh I see, that makes sense now. Cheers
 12.
I just put half-rounds on my Squier 77 Jazz and love them; very smooth feeling and flattish sound, but with a bit of brightness. D'addario. Dialing up the bridge PU makes a nice difference.
Did you just say you own a Squier 77? I thought the earliest Squiers came out in 1982
The Squier Story A detailed history of the name and the instruments Fender acquired U.S. guitar string manufacturer the V.C. Squier Company in 1965; by 1982 the Squier name had resurfaced as a low-cost “value brand” alternative initially manufactured and distributed in the Japanese domestic market and soon offered to Europe, North America and the rest of the world....
13.
Sorry to wazz on this parade....I effin' hate flats!!! sound crepe to me! am I alone? oh...... I'll get me coat........
No you're not alone, I don't like them either but I am polite and would never diss someone else's choice. However my approach to a mellower darker sound takes roots in the complete opposite direction, I only play round strings so how do I achieve that dark tone and mellow sound? I use my Mark Bass VLE Filter (Vintage Loudspeaker Emulator) cranked all the way to the right, and it works very well for me.
 14.
if you promise not to hit me!
Nah, you'll be alright.
 15.
ha. i'm not dissing it me ode. a genuine question. yes i barre above the 12th. and so does carl hodgkinson. i am just intrigued as i've never come across the fanny frets first hand and wondered how you get on.
Very easy, I wouldn't have bought 3 of them if I didn't get on with them, if ever you are in London give us a shout and you'll be more than welcome to try any of them, it would be my pleasure to let you see for yourself.
 16.
serious now. htf do you barre a chord on one of those. i guess it must be easier, or you wouldn't do it would you.
Seriously, you shouldn't try to find a hindrance that doesn't exist, just because it looks weird to you, all I can say is try one and you will see what all those who have tried it, would have experienced. As for the barre chord, those frets are not really that sloped in a way that would prevent you to used a barre, of course from the 14th fret onwards things get a bit more slanted but then again, do you really barre a parallel fretted bass past the 12th fret anyway? Do ya? Show us a video.
 17.
FRETS LOOK A LITTLE BIT WONKY TO ME THERE FELLA!
ahem...
 18.
oooh! I thought it was a pink one, looks awesome in red! Well nice!
Nah it's Fiesta Red same as the Squire CV Precision
 19.
Hi all From the start of the New Year I noticed a very large increase in the amount of SPAM accounts being registered, and so I put all new accounts on Admin approval to enable the Admins to have a little closer look at them. From 1st January up to today I've banned about 1300 new SPAM accounts, which works out at around an 800% increase in these accounts being registered in a comparative period over the previous 12 months. I identify the accounts by checking various SPAM alert sites with the account's name, e-mail address and IP address. What I have also noticed during these checks is that there is also an increase in the number of SCAM accounts being created - that is an account where either/and/or the name, e-mail address or IP address is flagged up on SCAM alert sites as being used in attempted scams. I've now banned 2 SCAM accounts that I managed to identify - one got in, the other didn't. Although the Admins check each new account at the moment, another SCAM account could get in that hasn't been identified as such. The bottom line is BE CAREFUL when buying from new forum members, especially if they contact you only by PM with 'too good' or 'too convenient' to be true offers. They tend not to post on the forums because then their forum name and other possible details are picked up by search engine bots and can be collated into a pattern of scamming behaviour. If you small a rat - there probably is one - alert a Moderator or Admin and we'll happily look into it. What we won't do is check out every member you're thinking of trading with - it's your decision and responsibility and neither the website or its owners can be held responsible if you fall for a scam. Contact buyers/sellers through their e-mail address by clicking on the link on their profile page: Many legitimate members use the same forum name on several websites - Google it: Google their e-mail address and any trading name they give you: NEVER pay by Western Union: Check for any feedback here or on another website: If you accept payment by cheque, ask your bank to deal with it as a 'special presentation' - they will charge you to do this, but you will find out if the cheque is good or worthless much quicker; Do not send goods until your bank tells you that the cheque has cleared:
Some advices for you: I am not sure how you ban these users, but I had been suffering the same issues with my own motorbike forum ( www.xt660.com/index.php ) and having noted that 80% of spammers seem to be from a few similar network regions, usually China or Russia I have minimized the risk of attacks by also putting the first part of their IP address on the ban list. i.e. 123.45.87.509 for example will be banned together with IP address 123.45.*.* and that will stop any further attempts from them. Eventually I have also downloaded a vigorous bot proof "captcha" system that is working wonders in stopping these buggers frm reoffending
 20.
Just heard that Darren at the Bass Merchant is starting to stock Dingwalls in the near future.... Argh. I want one now. 12 months ago they didnt appeal to me, but GW's Super P/J!
What... this one by any chance?
 21. Can we put this thread to sleep? Why are you all bickering, I don't understand. The way I see it people are entitled to spend their pennies how they wish. If a £60 bass is available for sale you would buy with the understanding that it is a bodged job and not a Stradivarius, that you either make do with it or try it to improve it within reasons. After all we all know you can't polish a turd but... from a charitable point of view Sue Ryder is indeed a charity and when you buy their cheap basses or guitar, your purchase will have contributed to saving a life or making life better for terminally ill people You have made a difference for someone, and that is all that matters. Maybe you all need to be reminded who and what Sue Ryder does: Sue Ryder Care supports people with specialist palliative, end of life and long-term neurological care needs. Each year they provide 4 million hours of care to people living with cancer, multiple sclerosis, Huntington's disease, Parkinson's disease, motor neurone disease, stroke and brain injury.
 22. JimBobTTd is a breeze to deal with, prompt payment and overall nice guy. Thanks
 23.
What an amazing bass!!! How long did the process take from order to delivery??
Hi! I am glad you like it, I have orderded it and paid a 10% deposit with the Bass Gallery in Camdem on Oct 8th 2010, the bass was completed by Sheldon and Co. on Feb 11th 2011 and it arrived at the store on Feb 18th, and I collected yesterday on Feb 19th 2011. So that's about 5 months and 10 days from order to delivery, exactly as Sheldon promised, so big kudos to him for accuracy and quality of production. Here are some pics of it with the other pickguard I have bought (I've bought 2 of them a parchment cream and a white pearloid) I think I prefer the pearloid one, but I am not too sure yet.
