1. I have just sold a Classic Vibe neck to pikeman and despite the fishy username there was nothing fishy about him, immediate payment and great communications, a great pleasure to do binness with! Come back for more anytime. Cheers
 2.
That's just not fair ! .. I'm going down to Bassdirect in a couple of weeks just to try the Dingwall's ... even booked time off work .. think you should take it back & say you've changed your mind Si ps. was just listening to this as I was responding to post .. sounds pretty good when he's playing almost by himself at the end http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiTnyub4VZE...layer_embedded#
3.
Did you play the Z1 / Lee Sklar that Mark has in?
Only unplugged and briefly... I didn't have that much times as I've had to rush back to "civilization" before the missus noticed I was missing in .... action
 4.
Howzit sound?
gorgeous!! here's an idea
 5.
Wonder if you could get a Torzal twist with true temperament fanned frets . GW you still getting the red one??
Yiip! it's on order eta sometime soon. Best things come to those who wait. lol
 6.
Now that is one helluva nice combination you have there. Can I ask you - what's it like swapping between parallel and sloping frets ? T
piece of piss I swear it to you. read this:
 7. Well here it is, ladies and gents. It was too good not to snacth it off Mark's hands at Bass Direct, retail price £3200, I got it for....£2300 a few months old, one previous careful owner and mint condish. All it need is a new set of wonky strings and a new battery cause the one on the back is near dead. Let the wisecracking begin, yes I know the frets are pissed, so am I most weekends. Would you hold it against me? (p.s.: that was a lie, I am a t-total, never touched the stuff, it's the truth!)
 8.
What style of neck?
It was a Squier Classic Vibe Precision neck, but it was sold the minute I put it up for sale in the Miscellaneous sale items. Someone snatched it faster than I could wrap it.
 9. What Jimmy said or... alternatively try one from a company called Vintage who makes a wicked Jaco's copy http://www.jhs.co.uk/vintagebass.html
 10. sounds to me like..... I have a spare Squier Classic Vibe neck and I 've played that neck from March until I replaced it last week with the Mighty Mite and there isn't one bit of wear on those frets. I could take pics to show you that neck is a minter. By the way that neck is for sale £50 delivered, anyone who needs it for a project that would be pukka, comes fitted with the original tuners and evvythang.
 11.
What is the normal stock CV P pickup like?
thin to... sh|te to me that is.
 12. Considering that the only part left from the former Squier which it was born as is the basswood body and the original excellent hi-mass bridge, everything else being a mixture of aftermarket parts, I cannot refer to this bass as the Squier Classic Vibe Precision anymore but... The Project P-Bass instead. It's only fair. The neck is a Mighty Mite, the pickup is a Lollar, and everything else is Fender original machine heads wiring, pots and other bits and bobs.
 13.
GW, I'm being totally honest here, if I hadn't of followed this diary and just gone to the last pics, I would of assumed it was a real Fender. I love what you've done to it, it looks absolutely gorgeous! I have a question for you, would you be able to do the same to the maple neck of my P bass as what you've done to this one if I was to send you it? And how much would you charge if you can? I can supply the Fender logo as well Would be really cool if you could as you've done a perfect job on it
Sorry pal, I don't exactly have a workshop and I borrowed and returned the spraying gun and a warehouse from a mate. I would think any decent luthier would be able to do that for you, it's not rocket science, I am sorry but I don't want to breath in anymore harmful stuff, that was enoguh to give me a heartburn for the next 4 days. I did use a mask but the stuff got to my lungs anyway. A pro might even do a better job. Sorry bout that.
 14.
get some man sized knobs on that too....
Ok I think I've got the man sized knobs covered. I've sourced some proper telecaster - type knobs to go with it, now... I ask, has anyone have any more complaints? I have also removed the tug bar / thumb rest which didn't go with the colour scheme, I think this bass is now completed in all aspects. But see what you think:
 15. I do like that colour, congratulations.
 16. Nothing is cast in stone yet, it's quite an expensive bass so I need to give it a thorough check first. We'll see if it tickles me.
 17. A dealer in town (which I won't mention until the deal is done) has a 2nd hand but immaculate ABII in a striking redwood top. A number of pushy emails later, I have managed to negotiate a very interesting price. No details of this deal can be made public, however on Wed I am going to check it out and if it's as in good conditions as it claims to be I might take this home:
 18.
My kids never caused me any grief - none of the five of them, instrument-wise, although there were other things they destroyed with elan.
My only son grew up and fled the nest. I have all my basses on wall hooks, the gf knows better not to even point at them. When being carried to gigs I use sturdy gig bags, they only travel in my car and never under a pile of speakers or other equipment. Hard cases are superfluos to almost useless, if you are a high flying musician, I wouldn't trust the average hard case to protect your bass from those monkeys baggage handlers, your bass is only safe in a proper bulky metal flight case. And that's a fact.
 19.
got to say that looks brilliant imho
Thanks I appreciate it. You know I think I might start a small venture called "Pimp my Bass" where people sends me their basses for me to tart them up with the bits of their choice, I think there is a niche in the market for this.
 20.
I see "I believe in miracles" and "cake hole;" good times! I had to restart it for some reason, but I can see them now. Hopefully this will be the start of something great Tom
Yes it works then. Super!
 21.
I remember an Alien Sex Fiend single in the 80s that was just the note of A for 3mins. 16ths too!
Or nealry anything by Adam Clayton
 22. I've added a track, tell me if you can see it
