https://covid19criticalcare.com The credentials of the people and professionals involved with FLCCC/BiRD group are impressive and I’m not here to spread propaganda but it’s good to have access to information that’s not being peddled by cranks! -

Vaccines are a big part of the way out of the current pandemic. I’ve mentioned it previously that if big pharma was really keen to fully attack this on all fronts then we’d be extensively looking at the off license use of other medications both in the prophylaxis of and treatment of COVID-19. While the idea of selective pressure related to the long term use of vaccines isn’t new there remains the train of thought that wide spread vaccination during an active pandemic does more to increase the mutation of a virus due to this selective pressure and make it stronger than a % of non- vaccinated individuals getting infected and a mutation occurring within them. By their very nature viruses will mutate and we are all mutagens irrespective of our vaccine status in lieu of a sterilising vaccine. I’m not anti vaccine I’ve had numerous vaccinations over the years from holiday related jabs to flu jabs. I’m also not going to tow the line and suggest that the current vaccine doesn’t come with risks. I hope that side effects are properly recorded and collated and we can get a picture of how much risk there is so folks can make an informed choice. I hope that research continues into the use of corticosteroids for aggressive treatment of people with Covid as much as I want to see the continued figures in relation to ivermectin as both a prophylactic and treatment in long Covid. @Al Krowthere’s good research figures from India where some states have embraced Ivermectin - Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. For fear of repeating myself there has to be more than one option to curtail the spread of Covid and I find it interesting that some drugs with impeccable safety records are being held to a higher safety standards than these novel treatments which in terms of longitudinal safety data are still at a very early stage. That’s not to say we’ll see very positive numbers but it’s still early days in terms of long term safety data. Again it’s great we have a vaccine. It would be even better to see alternatives to those so people who are conspiracy theorists, medically unable or simply reluctant to have an ‘experimental drug’ be given an option. From what I can read the areas who have embraced Ivermectin as an early treatment have had few cases and a noticeable drop off in numbers. Yeah there was the research paper from Egypt which looks like it was really badly conducted and reported trial and speaks more of the authors than the treatment being trialled. -
I see you’re using rhe bass cut engaged then boost the bass a little on the Noble. That’s where it really shines I think. It just shifts the low end to the sweet spot.

Did the bass not come with a basic tool kit? There’s normally a hex key set for the the adjustments tucked into a packet in the case. Failing that I t’d be quicker to either just measure the screws or whip out the mini tool kit/multi tool and get stuck in until one fits. Failing that buy a wee hobby screwdriver set with the interchangeable heads preferably one with hex heads too and your sorted for any tweaks to any bass in your collection. It’ll cover saddles, grub screws on volume/tone pots etc. Very handy to keep in the gig bag!

Wouldn't that apply to any bridge single coil pick up by the nature of its position closer to the bridge?
-
I played some of the GuitarGuitar blow out BB's a few years back and the bridge pick up was marred by the 60cycle hum. Ed Friedland make similar comments on how the pick up had a noticable hum too in a review video but loved the bass regardless. But hey it's a single coil pick up so totally expected.

They push on/pull off. It’s as easy as changing a string.

I noticed Merchant City have one and I’m thinking of a good excuse to go to Glasgow.

I read so many ‘reviews’ on here and on the ‘net which does nothing more than list the specs and make claims about how this product, if it can do X,Y and Z will deliver the goods only to find out that the said bit of gear lives on a shelf, in a rack with ten other basses and never once sees a stage. This is so common on music sites where I’d be surprised if they’ve even played the bass - they’re just regurgitating the press release. I saw it recently with the Dark Ray - it might have been posted on that BC thread about it. Or it’s the gushing ‘review’ followed by the for sale ad a few weeks later citing its pristine ‘unused’ condition.

I’ve had my eye on one of these since the MKII great looking bass and you know it’s gonna sound top notch. Will be looking forward to the verdict once you’ve gotten to play it in anger at some shows.

Zing!

Nah I opted out to concentrate on boxes and power amps 😀

Yeah those Freeman Squier basses are fantastic value and really solid. The new loom will just add that extra reassurance of sound electronics and the Model P… well it’s just such a solid pick up in its own right. The original isn’t bad but when I had a Freeman p bass it had a Model P in it too. Great pairing!

It’s like they’re mourning the loss of a friend in that second pic.

I’ve had a newer BB which I really liked but it was around the time I was offloading a heap of gear to get a deposit for my flat. I prefer the look of the newer BB’s but I’m not adverse to trying one out. I also played the BB’s when guitar guitar we’re doing a blow out, some mates have owned them way back in the day so I’m no stranger to them but most of it was back in my youth.

I’m away to get a new car so if the salesperson does a decent discount I might pick it up on the drive home 👌🏼

Yeah the bands would all be like bands you already know just with subtle differences Bun’s and Roses, Ron Jovi etc -
Might be fun to have a BEAD tuned bass kicking about…
-
Ben Shepherd from Soundgarden uses or used one of these Mesa pedals for years.
-
Might be worth taking a punt on…🤔

Just as an aside it’d be great if the government were actively seeking out and researching the off license use of other established, safe medications to further prevent and treat people with early symptoms and long haul COVID symptoms. Let’s not forget the vaccine is authorized under an emergency use authorization; other medication could be authorised under this same regulation to treat COVID patients - atorvastatin, corticosteroids, ivermectin, Vitamin D. Sorry back on topic football is great fans can be tw*ts but that’s people for you! We have been informed that our regular bar will be starting up gigs in August but our fiddle player has decided to call it a day until Jan as she is working on her own business and is super busy. Let’s hope our dep can cover the initial few gigs before *another shut down/*flurry or regular dates in the diary (delete as appropriate). -
Is that generally considered a decent price? It seems reasonable…
