It’s one of the finest versions of the humble p bass you can get. It’s immediately familiar yet a revelation in its modernity. The neck is sublime and the rolled edges just feel so good like it’s been played for 50 years, you could play it for hours at a time and the modern radius is reminds you you can tap, slap and chord at will with no worries of the bass itself getting in the way. I’ve just sold one and it was my main bass for about 4-5years. I’d have another in a heart beat and even though fanned fret 4 strings aren’t a necessity I’d love to try a 4 string version just to experience what the neck feels like. Mine was a 5’er too. If anyone get’s the opportunity to play or own one don’t hesitate. Enjoy your new bass. It looks lovely!

My mate has the 5 string passive HH Dimension and it's a cracking bass. The pick ups sound great; powerful but passive. It sounds like a beefier Fender and each pick up solo'd has a usable sound. The neck felt great and I'd happily gig a passive 4 or 5 string if one came along at a good price. Both him and I were spying the one he bought as it was on Gumtree locally. He's over the moon with it. I'd really like to have more time with it, give it a full gig or two to hear what it does with the band on a gig/in a mix. The reason I feel these didn't sell is that people bemoan Fender for being too samey yet as soon as they put out something different they get slammed for the non-traditional look often with the detractors not having played one. Consequence of success i suppose.

They’ve likely moved on to clip-on type so you don’t have to keep unplugging your bass on a gig every time you need it tune. That’s possibly as much to do with it as poor performance. Does yoirs look like this?

Ahh I thought from the picture you had the Korg jack plug tuner thing.

I dropped my bass down some stairs one time and it played a near perfect version of Jerry Was a Racecar Driver!

@Al Krow If your tuner is consistently ‘accurately’ off check if has an option to ‘set the tuning’ maybe a switch or a function button. It’s possible you may have hit it and changed the A-440Hz to something else. Many tuners have the ability to change the A-440hz so you can down tune etc and still get an ‘in tune’ reading. #RTM

So the helix is a tuner for now then. That’s one function you can tick off as having exhausted 😀

Are you using your Helix as a tuner? surely if you have a hx stomp you could make a patch which equals your fave on each pedal and slowly sell off what you can duplicate. If you find a sound you can’t recreate then keep that pedal?

It can be tricky making some tunes fun to play and other tunes, like some I mentioned above, aren’t songs I’d really go out of my way to listen to but are quite enjoyable to play especially with the choir gigs.

I’d love to hear your version. Any audio?

In no particular order Raggle Taggle Gipsy ‘live version -The Waterboys as it’s got a really driving bassline in places. I was rehearsing last night with a 300 person choir for an upcoming show and hearing the songs especially ones like Rule The World (Take That) and Viva la Vida (Coldplay) sounded really powerful! and finally Nothing Compares To You by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. Ahh Prince😢

The BB is designed to stand up to Dual Rec amps etc so it’s gonna have a much more in yer pus type of voicing which, if you’re into that kinda thing it’s gonna be hard to beat. Sounds like a good purchase!

Oh go on then... Meet Frank! He’s a PBird with a Tone Styler in place of a regular tone control. The sound is great and the added versatility of the TS over a regular tone control on a single pick up bass is a very wonderful thing!

I'd considered this at one stage too - some decent studio kit in a small rack - there's Warm Audio 'Pultec' clone on here - I'd love to try it into something like the Hellborg power amps going 'cheap' on Thomann. Imagine the big fat sound outta a Pultec hitting some big iron!! Delicious!

What else could you possibly need?
