Ph btw the guitar solo was improvised, i've been told i HAVE to tell you all that! ha, next track may have a better/busier bass line and a bass solo MAYBE And will be putting the Attitude to real good use, and we're not sure about a singer yet BTW i know these guys, the drummer is a good friend and plays guitar in a swing band we're in (i play trombone and The guitarist plays french horn in the same orchestra as me, plus we're school pals
2. Hey Guys Please check out my new band, the video is from about an hour after we met up, after out a few things we each had together, and is in an Attic so i don't have my full rig as its about 20 miles from my house =S Please tell me what you think of what i'm playing, am i under playing? As it felt like it a bit at times, if so how can i improve this? As we may re-do the track soon, and please suggest band titles haha Keep in mind i had played in two days and was very nervous, haha (i'll make these excuses all day like the not exactly as planned slide at after the intro X_X ) Thanks in Advance! A.C NEW BAND VIDEO ON MY YOUTUBE ACCOUNT Capitals make you clever...
3. I've met Alan Moore He lives right near only a few doors from my grand parents and went to school with my dad, albeit my did wasn't kicked out for selling LSD haha! and they were 5 years apart Thought when i met him i was too nervous to do anything =S I'm actually trying to design a rorschach pattarn bass xD it'll be made in 50 years at this rate though haha Erm, anyway back to the bass! (i have three copies, one is infront of me right now )
4. If i'm ever down, and youb still own this, i'll take it off ya! Oh wait money... haha! Oh well, bump on me!
5. Ah! Sale fell through, back up bump!
6.
Sure. It may also be for sale soon tempted by a svt vr!
Unless i can have it for a bowl of peanuts and a fiver, don't think i can afford it! haha, Ummmm if you get an SVT VR can i try that too? haha! Your welcome to try my gear when i get some stuff worth usuing haha!
7.
Well there is a Locke thread in the for sale section... Don't know how like the the bass of doom it is like though.
I saw that not sure whats going on there but maybe have a snoop later...
Although my guess would be it would be made with out the capacitor/resistor(I literally know nothing about the bass sorry) as I doubt adding it and then remov would be the key to the tone.
You never know! PLus it would be nice if they did! haha it would make me feel warm and fuzzy
I do know a bit about pots. 500k generally let through more highs, and with single coils can make the bass sound a little brittle - they a more commonly used on Gibson/epiphanies with humbuckers, as humbuckers generally suck a bit of high in ten effort to buck out the hum. 250k pots chock off some highs, an a more common with fender and single coils as they fatten up the sound a single coil puts out. I wouldn't use 500k pots on a jazz, especially with 70s pickup spacing as it can sound very dry and brittle on the high end.
Thanks very much!
8.
Oh dear, this'll open up a can of worms
My favourite I'm just curious is all! It seems a very lovely bass (i've seen one from behind [s]bars[/s] glass) Just wondering if they went all the way with re-creating the Jaco bass, it would certainly be worth it if they did/do! Eh, Worth it if you want it and have the money mind you! (BTW I'm a HUGE watchmen fan )
9. Hey Everyone! After getting a few Jaco Pastorious CDs from my dad (he lives in New Orleans now! Practically gave me a bucket of jazz ) and playing around and trying (yet to no such success) to convince my friend to give me money so "we" can by a squire Fretless I got too thinking, just HOW like the orginal home done fretless jazz, that jaco used is teh Fender version, what i'd like to know mostly is the Removed resistor, does the Fender CS do that? just how faithful too the story is it! do that have a removed resistor or not? of so is it made with out it or with THEN removed, might be key to tone! Just wondering if anyone knows, as the squire i (hopelessly, with my lack of any fretless playing) We played had had a resistor removed in hommage, and had different Pots (one last question, how di pots effect tone? like whats the difference between having a 250K and a 500K pot?) Jeez! I think i need a lie down.... A.C P.S! At £2200+ i don't think i can afford to pick one up and see
10. I can't help in anyway as i don't know anything about an amps guts, especially a valve one! BUT when you get it sorted, at your next gig around the 'deen can i try it out? Cheeky
11.
Not a fan of Rotos at all, I'm afraid. Am I to deduce from the second statement that you use flatwounds? Does Sheehan, too? I'm not a Fanboy, but none of the strings I've tried sound quite right. And they're all rounds. I might just have to revert to "Plan A"; DR Fatbeams or Hi-Beams. Any D'Addario or LaBella recommendations out there? The Attitude has lots of fundamental output and bags of lower mid-range. It's just that little bit of upper-mid singing and top-end sparkle that's missing. Thanks for your thoughts so far...
Ah! sorry for a late second reply i meant FLATwounds Arg! Sorry for any confusion =S but till last week i had 2 steve harris strings (E,A)and two Labellas on (D,G) Sorry!
12. Any chance you'd be around Aberdeen for some reason I'd love one of those, i that colour Though i REALLY shouldn't spend anything, no bread on the table me! haha
13. I don't know enough about the Split P to make a call, BUT i would really really like one! Plus Dimarzio have tat new solderless pickguard pickup change thingy. I don't Like Semour duncans but thats just me, all my bass buddies from around town have every bass with them i think! (various models that is!) Also are you sure about the SPB-3? I've always liked the SPB-1 ALOT more, but again just me! I am actually probably going to get a new standard P-bass and put a Dimarzio split p in sometime in the next 12 months, but if you don't want to wait i'd say the dimarzios even though i've used them once, but Dimarzios are great! Also i am addicted to HOT pickups. ^^ ALL IMHO
14. I've always used rotosound haha, i even use the Sheehan set now as i like the even tensions and the growl, Depends on the sound your after, I had my Attitude strung up with Coated Ernie balls for a while, but i went back to rotosound as i like the feel, Plus my sound is 110% about growl, i've been told to turn it all down but i'm not even half way! Also got a great roundwound sound from the Attitude Thats just what i've done, take from it what you will! You could try the Optima Gold ones haha i've been dying to try that out some day! You could try d'addario strings? I used them on a friends Sheehan style P-bass and it sounded pretty good! very clean and nicely crisp just my Two pennies
15. one in almost flawless condition went for £200 not too long ago BIG mistake for the seller, great deal for someone though! i'd say £400 is a great price, i wish i could have it :'( best of luck with the sale mate!
16.
Mmm - nice amp! I'd be interested in this if i can sell my Ashdown head - I have a couple of GK cabs already and they are fantastic! Just curious - with one cab (4x10) would you just use the woofer output and not the tweeter/horn thing?
Not if i shift my Ashdown gear first! Then i'll buy this hahaha! Its on I think i might lose though...
17. Ahh! Too bad i live in Scotland, i've been wanting one of these to come up, well plus i still need my friend to by my amp so i have so money! Bump on me and a +1 to what Delberthot said!
18. I know the feeling man! I was filling for a friend who was ill but still wanted his band to gig, but some guy tells me i'm rubbish and i can't sing in tune (the second bit is right haha) just practise and like others have said just try and stay away from them, and when your 100 times better and happier than them you can just take it with a pinch of salt
19. If you've played the RBX and liked it, why not? Its a bit cheaper isn't it? and may as well stick to what you know if it is cheaper then i'd say go for it!
20.
Aww, thanks man - cheers for the kind words. And nope! It dates from Nov. 1989. Anytime you are down most welcome to come round for some tea and cakes and try them out. cheers andy
1989? Not to make anyone feel old but thats from before my older brother was born (only a year before mind you!) Sounds like a plan for some time in the future, I love tea and cakes, especially the cakes but Haha MB1 Bumpo on me too!
21.

Westone sought of did this in the eighties when they released a model that came with fretted and fretless necks in the case.
Haha Thanks, Really? Thats pretty cool, i wonder how thick the neck is, and if there are small divots when the frets are in, probably thinking about how it is likely to work
22. Hey! Just got sent this by my brother http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2WOOIZXNks...player_embedded Sorry, i can't remeber how to have it as a window in the post AC
23. Fancy giving me that Attitude for £180 Love the earlier ones, from before i was born i think though I can say 1+ for this set up and for Andy being a lovely guy (we had a back and forth about ashdown stuff if you didn't remember, incase you thought i was just some wierdo haha!)
24.
Budget is about £600. I've seen two that came close, one was the Fender Jazz Aerodyne... fits the bill but I'm not a fan of how it looks. The other is the Fender Deluxe P-bass Special... but that's active.
The Aerodyne is A beauty... As is the Duff Mckagen Couldn't you just Get a P-bass standard or what ever you get for you money however much you have/ can find stuff and add a Single coil? I was thinking about doing that, as i've never played teh Aerodyne and doubt i ever will, (due to highland livin'!) and i can't get along with Jazz bass necks "/
