1. I get an amazing tone using DR Hi-Beams Flats: 45-100!!
2. Heya Clarky nice to hear from you again! I do agree that it does all come down to personal taste, that's why I'm buying a custom Wal neck as I don't tend to get along with the standard V profile. I think of all the Wals I've tried the basses I didn't take to as much were the Pro Series, although I'm yet to try out a fretless from any of the series!!
3. I've just ordered one from Paul Herman and I believe they are well worth the money and the wait!! The basses seem expensive but some of the extra add-ons that used to be an add-on now come as standard with the bass such as the case and some of the rarer woods.
4. You can't just turn up to Paul's workshop, it has to be booked by appointment. He replies to e-mails about every two-three weeks due to the backlog of basses I believe!! I'll send you a PM with the address....just a min!
5. Pics now done!! http://s813.photobucket.com/albums/zz57/lb...es/Eden%201x15/
6. spectacular bargain bump!!! courtesy of shergold!
7. Thanks Shergold! I'm really surprised it isn't budging might have to put it on 'Evil- Bay'
8. Thanks Merton! It really is a fantastic amp head!
9. Hey all, Eden D115XLT for NOW £325!! Recently been bought from Camden Bass Gallery. The plastic corner protection have been cracked (while it was at the Gallery) after having lots of pressure placed on the cabinet (this does not affect the sound of the cab!), they can be easily replaced! Info: http://www.eden-electronics.com/products/c...div/d115xlt.asp I'll upload pics and more info soon! PM me if you have any questions!
10. They are incredible heads but not what I'm after at the moment
11. I'm not interested in combo trades for the moment. Sorry! Tradewise I'm looking for: Cabs: Epifani 4x10 (cash your way) Accugroove Tri210L (cash your way) Schroeder cabs (cash your way depending on what cab it is!) Heads: Aguilar DB750 or DB751 (cash your way) MarkBass (cash your way depending on the head) Trace Elliot (only the old 80s stuff) Thunderfunk (cash your way) Ideally after a cash deal though
12. SOLD!!! Pics here: http://s813.photobucket.com/albums/zz57/lb...s/Eden%20WT550/

Octave

I got the Boss OC-3 about 3 weeks ago in a trade deal with a BCer and I tried it out alongside my brother's EBS Octabass, the result: The OC-3 was alot more gritty sounding but gave very clear octaves up to the A fret on the E (from there it started to break up a bit). I tried the Aguilar Octamizer as well and I think it has a bit more edge over the other octave pedals I've used and it likes nicer as well!
14. I was at a friend's house last week and was playing one of these, actually exact same colour and pickguard and was surprised at how playable it was for the amount of money it cost and sounds great (very good Stingray copy in my eyes and I own a Stingray so I would know!) Good luck with the sale!
15. Beautiful looking bass, bet it plays fantastically as well
16. Having said all this im a spoilt brat and although i work, my dad gave me £200 so i could get my latest addition, my Warwick thumb fretless NT5.
Yh but that Warwick is a lush bass
17. I've just turned 18 (feeling old already ), been playing for about 4 years and am now doing a degree in Bass at ACM! I'm using a fretless Fender MIM, possibly the best bass I've ever played (and I've played alot of basses in my short life span ). Trading my Lakland DJ5 for Mauro's Musicman Stingray next week. Other stuff I borrow 'cough cough' off my older brother: Ampeg Classic 8x10, Musicman Stingray 5, EBS pedals, Trace Elliot and his recording stuff I've also ordered a Fretless Wal which should be with me by late 2011 (or later) Main influences are Mick Karn, Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller, Stefan Redtenbacher and Diego Kovadloff (check out the last two bassists both are my tutors!) My Lakland: http://s813.photobucket.com/albums/zz57/lb.../Lakland%20DJ5/ I'll try and post some more pics!
18. There isn't really a best bass for funk but you should check out Musicman, Fender Jazz and Precision! Louis Johnson on a Musicman: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CslkVhOoE2U Francis Rocco Prestia on a P-Bass: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQE5vwlRYHA Jaco Pastorius on his infamous 'Bass of Doom': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWh8HzCxtOg&feature=fvst Of course there are many other brands such as Warwick (check out Stuart Zender in Jamiroquai). I am primarily a Funk/ Groove/ Jazzer and I'm usually seen using a jazz bass! Ampwise check out Ampeg, as Blackman said Hartke, Mark Bass, EBS, Epifani and the old Fender Heads! (I think you should choose whatever works for you!)
