  1. I bought Lawrie’s speakon cable (bassic-bits 1m klotz cable) - great communication and the item was delivered 3 days after I bought it. No issues at all.....thanks Lawrie. JohnO
  2. I ordered 3 sets of elites DBE strings mid January 2017 - they sent 1 out because they were out of stock and said the other 2 would follow in early February. It's now April - still nothing and I've phoned 2 times now for a refund (on the 2 sets of strings I didn't receive) - it shouldn't take 2 weeks to refund my money? I'm not sure what's going on with them as they were always very reliable in the past.
  3. I saw Wayne's wanted ad for a MM stingray neck (fretted/rosewood) in April 2015 - I was having the neck on my Stingray replaced by the guys at Status with a graphite one. I got in touch with Wayne and we agreed a price for the old neck once replaced. To cut a long story short, Wayne did eventually get the neck but it was August (4 months later!)... I must say he was an absolute gent to deal with - very understanding with the unscheduled delay (which was out of my control) but there was a lot of good communication which meant we didn't have a "situation". no problems here and I'd definitely recommend dealing with Wayne. Thanks for persevering Wayne! ...we got there in the end - hope you're happy with the neck. John
  4. I saw a "wanted" ad by Gareth - he was after a speaker cable (speakon - 1/4" jack). I offered him my OBBM cable and we were able to conclude the deal by email/PM in a matter of minutes. Everything was fine - great communication from Gareth and I'd thoroughly recommend dealing with him - a great guy. Thanks Gareth!

  6. I've just sold Dave (OBBM) my new/unused sans amp BDDI. I spotted his wanted ad whilst on holiday and after some good communication the deal was concluded when I returned from holiday in a timely manner (on both our parts). I've dealt with Dave quite a few times over the past 5-6 years mainly for all my cable needs but he also did me a really good deal on a GK fusion amp a few years ago. Bottom line is that Dave's a really good guy to deal with and this latest deal with the Sansamp BDDI was no different - very smooth and an excellent fella to deal with. I still use all his cables - and don't go anywhere else when I need anything. Enjoy the Sansamp Dave! All the best, John

    bad back

Jamie was after a GK fusion 500 amp in the wanted section of basschat - I had one I wanted to move on and got in touch with him. Great communications and we were able to conclude a deal for my amp in a timely manner which involved posting it from Aberdeen. An all good experience and I'd happily recommend Jamie for any future basschat dealings/transactions. Cheers Jamie .......I'm glad you're happy with the amp. John
  8. I've been buying all my instrument/amp/speaker cables from Dave over the past 5 years.....so already knew he was an honest/standup sort of guy. He's just sold me his GK fusion 500 amp head and it was one of the smoothest transactions I've ever been involved in! The amp was delivered next day (after I made payment)....amazing! I'm totally impressed with the amp and the way Dave was able to make it all happen - nice guy to deal with and his cables are the best out there. Thanks Dave . John
  9. This is exactly the situation I'm in!.....I'm currently selling off all my older Trace gear to fund a Barefaced big twin cabinet....just about got the funds together. Alex suggested keeping my old TE ah400smx and newer ah500-12 just to see how they fair with the new cabinet. The tc electronic was the first alternative lightweight option I looked at (the rh450) but I'm now considering gk fusion (500w) valve amp or gk1001rb. Also the mark bass little tube amp gets good reviews.....? Being a trace man myself for the best part of 20years it's all a bit daunting, but, just like Big Rob, I feel the time for a change is fast approaching... Barefaced was ordered 2 weeks ago - so about 6 weeks to wait! JohnO
  10. Chris bought my Levys bass strap.....he's a top guy to deal with. Good communication....which helps . Enjoy the strap Chris
  11. .....Levys now sold (pending the usual) thanks Chris Ian - I picked the red Status strap up at last years Bass Show at Olympia - bought it from the Status stand on the Sunday (they had a few left so I just went for it) it's a really nice strap - well padded, feels great and looks the part when paired up with my Status B-2 bass. I'd be interested in getting another one if they have anymore for sale at next months bass show? It's a "long" size and I had to get one of the lads at Timpsons to make an extra hole in the strap with his punch thing.
  12. Levys M4GF 3.5" Garment leather strap - Black. Adjustable 36" - 52" Excellent condition - used only twice. Just bought another Status strap (got 2 now!) so the Levys won't get used. New these range between £32 (+ £3 p&p) - £45 .....on Ebay Selling for £22 posted in the UK. Paypal (gift) or bank transfer. I sold some Status double ball end bass strings to Martin......nice fella and an absolute pleasure to do business with ...he's a forum favourite and kept me amused with some of his one-liners throughout the transaction/sale....thanks Martin
  15. Yes, sorry.....should have mentioned - The Double Ball End strings will fit a regular 34" Status/Steinberger/Hohner headless bass whilst the Single Ball End (normal) strings will fit a 34/35" scale bass comfortably. I'm measuring from the bridge saddles to the nut at the headstock of a 20-fret Fender Geddy Lee Jazz 4 string bass and I get 34"-34.5"" if that's any help?.....I've currently got a set of the Status single ball end strings on the Fender Geddy Lee and I've had to cut them a bit. Cheers, JohnO
  16. 17. I've got 2 of these fine basses (Mark King, SeriesII) - JohnD has replaced the pickups in each for his new SN2000 humbuckers with series/parallel switching option ...and even reprayed the pearl blue bass (from a yellowish pearl white color!)....excellent craftsmanship! Cherry red bass is an '84 (& weighs a ton) & the pearl blue is an '86 (quite a bit lighter) - both fitted with Sims LEDs. John's also a great bloke to deal with as well as being very patient!! 20. Comfort Strapp (Pro Bass Long) 35"-38" length which is their medium sizing I guess? Got this a year or so ago from the Gallery but prefer my old leather strap. New condition with tags - never been used. After £20 (postage included within UK), BACS preferred. Cheers, John [attachment=63270:DSCF0163.JPG]
