I have rheumatoid arthritis and even though it's in remission the damage it did originally to my right wrist means the bones are fusing together as the fluid sack leaked and the bones rub together. My right thumb and first finger have no feeling at the tips meaning I cannot hold a plectrum. I use a short scale bass which helps and try to keep the joint moving instead of not using it. You have to just carry on. Using the affected joints won't make them worse.
I tested a old 1U Marshall Power amp the other day for a friend. It had a valve switch which I must admit sounded very nice and I feel this sound is needed in my life. The amp is not for sale so do analogue pedals have these nice simulated harmonics or are the tube pedals much better?
I mostly suck my thumb while crying and wishing I learnt technique 45 years ago when I started playing. Then I think how would I have learnt technique on a short scale semi acoustic Antoria. I shall therefore watch other people play in awe and concentrate on making shapes on the fretboard my way.
The sadly departed and very talented Anthony who started Killing Joke guitar tabs always wanted to add a bass section to his site which would have been fun. His ears must have been a one off to pick up and work out what Geordie plays.
Just to contradict myself, one half of that band, the one with the powerful voice I feel guilty watching..... Erm TaTu, she sounds good doing karaoke in small venues of their back catalogue.
50th anniversary, that's impressive. I remember back when the press mocked the Stones because they were still touring at the rare old age of 50 ish. How things have changed.
Such a shame. I am not a superfan but I attended one of his Rock city gigs some 10 or so years ago and the band were brilliant and he sang his excellent solo work as good as was needed. I don't think he did any Stone Roses stuff, I always have told people it was a very special gig.
I am glad I wore ear plugs it was a bit loud. Even so my bad ear now has a new sucking noise as well as the usual ringing. Hope that goes away. Such a impressive band.
I like to buy the mag from the excellent shop Magazine Heaven at Rushden lakes shopping centre. Their cafe upstairs is good too. This way I don't mind paying full wak.
