  1. I’ve tried them. They were good. And they are expensive, but they’re made in small numbers in the UK so it’s to be expected. I just want a stingray sound in a BB package, the body shape just sits right for me. I’m going to do it eventually. Just need the wonga.
  2. Just a BB with the Sims Super Quads in would do it. All options covered.
  3. Thought about this over a brew. Yamaha aren’t going to deviate from their plans. I think the best option is to allow me to become the head of YGD R&D, I’ll make a load of prototypes to suit Basschat’s requirements. And then quit. @Al Krow can you not modify your Sandberg to suit, or buy a second hand 735 and get it modded? I’m still holding out for a 424x to come up on the cheap so I can implement my plan.
  4. Then I shall make one
  5. Gene Simmons does this with Cort Axe and Punnisher basses. $10,000
  6. Looks great
  7. I suspect after recent purchases, there would be an imminent divorce. But you make beautiful instruments. And I am weak - I know where you are though, for sure. Have you ever attempted a version of the Les Paul Signature bass (the posh Jack Casady).
  8. I want you to do me a Pelham Blue Ripper with Thunderbird pickups 😂
  9. Designed in 2019? is that what the 19 signifies? Its nice enough.
  10. Your basses always look like what Gibson should’ve done in the first place. Brilliant.
  11. “These 3? I’ve had them for years!” *pooooooff* you’re back in the game. Works all the time in our house.
  12. Well if the sound ends up fitting, it will be gigged.
  13. Just daft things like “a really fuzzy bass sound might work here” - so you twist something and it’s there. No endless menu and preset scrolling. And much cheaper than buying a load of separate pedals
  14. I’ve had 2 now, they’re very good when songwriting “I wonder what chorus would sound like here...” etc. I buy effects and sell them, I rarely actually use them. So this is ideal, and also the tuner feature and volume pedal are ideal. In terms of my needs, it’s ideal.
  15. I’m so out now, this year I have bought... A new 210 A new posh tweed gig bag a Boss ME50B a new bass
  16. I think the bb714bs was the same price as a 1024 ish when new, but it really is just a 414 with a funny pickup layout. Now plays brilliantly and is acoustically very good. Feels a bit more “direct” than the 414, not sure if that’s these 2 basses having variance or having a great whacking magnet near the neck join adding something.
  17. I think it’s a valid thing to do, a £400/£500 bb with a MM set up. A bass in its own right rather than a budget “sterling” by MM. my two bb’s sit in very high company and hold their own. The 1024x I had was lovely, but I preferred the 414
  18. Yeah, Yamaha need to make these
  19. Woooo
  20. Love the joker, love that
  21. I’m up to my eyeballs in j types...but I’d be tempted 😂
  22. somewhat unintentional...but they’re all MHS
  23. proper update
  24. Just bought a bass, I have an excess of hard cases. this needs to go. A fairly slim ABS type, has a small crack in one corner - would be fine for general use or as shipping case. Some tape marks but would clean off. £25 collected or £35 shipped in uk. ish - open to offers
