  1. I have never once worried this much about anything. Here’s how I run the scenario in my head (taking into account: room dynamics, band set up, amp, strings, pickup position, signal chain, bass construction, player, fingers or pick...all other possible variables...) For this - please imagine an internalised conversation with oneself... “does this sound good?” ’yes...’ “Very good - carry on...” OR ”Something doesn’t sound quite right” ’what are you going to do?’ ”change a couple of settings until it sounds better” ’very good’
  2. I think they’re 32” - this is a pretty uncommon finish, normally seen in black or black with ghost flames which changed orange to purple. this one is on reverb at about £650 currently.
  3. Ha. I don’t play 5’s currently mate - and I’m about £1600 shy. Two small barriers. But we’ll get over it...
  4. What a dummy. He’ll never make a name for himself.
  5. Yeah, he’s really ballsed up making basses. 😆
  6. Honest guess? An Encore 3/4 with a messed about with body and added pickguard they were £89 in Argos in the 1990’s
  7. With a redesigned pickguard...pretty cool?
  8. I just cannot believe someone if not a group of people round the table signed off on this. It’s not even a “swing and a miss.” It’s just god awful. So so stupid. Ah well, it’s kept me busy tonight...
  9. £849 for the 4 string
  10. I’ll just get me saw out 😋
  11. Also, wonder why they’re not £700+ anymore 🤔😏
  12. Well. I think £575 should come with a decent finish. I also hasten to add that the pickguards looked like they’d been cut with a butter knife while blindfolded. Maybe the 2 I saw were Friday afternoon jobs. but they Undid the desire for me there and then.
  13. Well, at £700-£800, that’s a bit crap isn’t it. Hence the “crappy” neck quip. shame, the Jackson C5P I had for years absolutely had one of the nicest necks I’ve ever played. The rest of the stuff seemed good on paper.
  14. I have made a few references now to how disappointed I was when I felt the necks on these. Gritty, rough and cheap feeling.
  15. Wasn’t the guitar called a fusion? I may be wrong
  16. Wish it had 21 frets. Hmm.
  17. Always liked their JJ bass, again, instead of the current horrors.
  18. But in the family canon...they had this Ric-inspired gem...they could’ve done a rework.
  19. So, thinking of the back catalogue of Jackson - they got in bother for this in the 1990’s... Mr Marleaux didn’t take kindly to them pilfering his shape... ”Taking without Consat...” sorry.
