  1. So I’ve just sorted the bb350f discussed above. Frets will occur first. Then Ive got to Sand the red paint off and make a decision. here are options currently LPB, Sherwood Green, burgundy Mist,Royal Purple...
  2. 415WR - looks like it’s in good nick under there.
  3. Yeah. Needs a bloody good clean. In current state it’s a £150 bass at best. Cleaned and set up/restrung and sparkly...possibly £250-£300. I mentioned this in another thread about the efforts of a well known shop in Manchester. ”it’s vintage” ‘oh right mate, just looks filthy...’
  4. The pickup, controls and output are all on the same module. So you could, but you’d need 2 cables And 2 amps.
  5. My tune is 7.5lbs. A bit “too” light. My Jack Casady is 8lbs with a high mass babicz bridge thrown in the mix. 9lbs is about my limit too...
  6. Hmmmmmm....wonder how much postage would be... Ignore me - just done a spec sheet check and not suitable for my requirements 🙃
  7. Did you feel it was a good move? Hard to guess my way as there are no Vanderklay dealers nearby
  8. Would love this. Need my EBS 410 gone
  9. They’re a different breed the older BB’s, £250 would be my limit really for a bb300
  10. It’s hard to see in the photos, but the finish was peeling away - the more I think, the more it looks like it’s been exposed to damp. Never good.
  11. There’s a nice bb300 in black on Facebook currently. Bit rich at £300 but to be fair it’s in good nick and worth every penny. Early Taiwanese I think due to shape - seller says 81 (I’d guessed 84/5) https://www.facebook.com/groups/184621401586617/permalink/3885984948116892/
  12. No worries. I think it’s an earlier 90’s one as the later ones were a bit more bulbous. Ive no idea what body of use with it. I’m off to think 😉
  13. Yeah. Zero effort...zero reward...no business left. I pressed for a bit more information, just to see if they took the hint - unfortunately for them, I’ve lost the initial interest now and a bit put out by the lack of effort. this was sent while the shop was still open and there’s been an hour and a half open today so far. No reply. When I worked in a music shop we got in at 8.30 and replied to E-Mail enquires and website referrals before we opened. We did a rota - one would check string/accessory stock replen. One would Hoover, one would wipe display cabinets/dust the shelves etc. I held those potential leads in the same regard as a punter stood in front of us. We kept that going until I left in 2014. They stopped doing this soon after I left, the business ethos changed and last I’d heard they’d changed hands again and the online reviews speak volumes.
  14. Whereabouts in Manchester mate? Ive no idea what I’d do with it...but it looks cool. Wheres the body? 😂
  15. Iris and I had 2 hours to kill between an injection and a kidney scan yesterday. The RMCH is a 10 minute walk to Johnny roadhouse and I’ve not been in years so... In the window... some basses. What I thought was an earlier 70’s Jazz in need of TLC and on the wall, lots of cheapies and nasties, but a LPB 1980 P Bass Special...also not in the best shape. So. The Jazz is interesting, I think “spend about £500 on that and it could be a decent bass” - I didn’t have huge amounts of time as Iris was in the Wheelchair and she gets bored. Messaged the shop later in the day - “I saw the red Jazz in the window - have you got any more information on it?” reply came ”it’s a 1975, here’s the link to it on reverb with more pics/information” the link states ”1975 fender jazz bass” and “please see pictures for condition” No weight, no “refinished/replaced parts” or “with case/covers” just nothing. So that’s my interest gone. the pics also show what a mess it actually is. https://reverb.com/uk/item/33345033-fender-jazz-bass-1975 Here’s the thing, it’s on at £1600 ish. I’d want it for less to allow for a decent refinish. And while it’s not vintage collectible grade, there’s seemingly been no effort put into making it better or more saleable. And then when somebody (me) has shown some interest, there’s been no effort in “selling” it. Anyhow - For about 5 minutes I got excited. Weird how little effort they’re putting into selling stuff though, particularly at what must be a horrible time for music retailers, 3 staff - only one said hello. Also...hilarious acoustic guitar turned into a bass.
  16. Lovely this - big JB fan. Singer has done a great job (nice voice) - with someone like Jeff Buckley and his vocal acrobatics, it’s easy to do a mimic/parody; he’s done his own thing and that’s mint. Good band you’ve got mate, pretty jealous TBF. Made my morning 😉
  17. Well I’ll send @HazBeen the link. Hopefully he can help. if not...I will live 😉
  18. Thought I’d found the deal of a lifetime. in 2009 there was a small run of bb3000 reissues for the Japan market. Saw one for sale, contacted the guy. ”it’s not mine, it’s a link of a local site in the Netherlands...” Collect only. Would’ve worked out at £740, could have shoved that on the credit card under the radar...
  19. Meh. £150 would be better.
  20. Marcusowsky?
  21. Used to work with Tony. “did I ever tell you I was in steelers wheel...” Nice bloke. The 1500a is a “should own one” bass.
  22. It’s fine - my “offer” was rejected. Curiousity killed the cat... 9 lives still left.
  23. Jesus, you’ve really gone “glad half full” with that summary. It’s more like a Lake.
