One word to describe the combination of Bernard, Nile and Tony - "awesome". I know it's an obvious one but still it has to be done... There's some fantastic clothes being worn in this vid.

That's a lovely looking instrument. I do like the way the Sei guys do the headstock with the different woods.

I like SC and I like DC - just thought I'd say In answer to the OP "fad or future", I'd say neither - they're just alternatives.

This is NOT a "what's the best bass for metal" question!
purpleblob replied to Evil Undead's topic in General Discussion
Hell, I used to play metal with a Wal (and not even a painted one ). I think if image is the prerequisite then I black precision or maybe a BC Rich (but not the Warlord or anything too spiky, imo) or maybe an Explorer style. But really all I'd care about it was the music good. -
How about purplebob?
I don't really see myself as a "bob", I have my heart set on slimyblob for some strange reason.
... and that purpleblob's company used to have issues about small parts and wouldn't send them out in the end. It just goes on. It's the modern miracle.
I'd like to point out that my company has no issues with small parts, that's just a rumour

Big Fat 70's style cop drama tune - rough demo 1st take
purpleblob replied to krispn's topic in Recording
I liked the tune, but in this style of music the bass (at least in my opinion) cuts through the mix a lot more. I didn't feel the bass was as punchy as maybe it could have been. I'd agree with WHUFC BASS in that it seemed a little muffled. Unfortunately I'm no expert on mixing so I'm sorry to say I can only venture an opinion, not offer any plausible solutions. -
Not sure if this is exactly what you want, but if you check out http://www.victorwooten.com/labs.html there's a fingerboard trainer.
Nah, it's actually a clever marketing ploy so that all the slappers and fretw***ers have more room to show off in. Apparently, when someone chooses to "demonstrate their skills", a gang of screeching girls appears from nowhere and flocks around the potential customer. This helps to support the customer's delusion that their "skills" attract ladies, in turn increasing the chance of a sale by nearly 150%. True story.
Sounds like my sort of place

This is why I took up the double bass (new recording)
purpleblob replied to Bilbo's topic in Recording
What a beautiful voice. Oh and nice bass as well -
Well my Jaydee has now taken more than 15 months I think and I'm still waiting (not that it concerns me or anything, as I'm happy to get it when it arrives) so I suppose it's simply the case that these guys are very busy. It's good to see the Wal name surviving and possible flourishing and the same for the other British luthiers. As for the price, well the price is simply the price. We can argue all day about whether a Wal is worth this price tag or not

Good website and whilst I haven't had chance to listen to all the music, sounds pretty good. -
Announcing "The Bergonzifying Transmogrifier" for Bass
purpleblob replied to BassoRidiculoso's topic in Theory and Technique
Just to let you know this worked in Firefox but didn't seem to wanna work in IE 8. -
I don't read but I really wish I could. Problem is I've not really got any major need to read except for my own interest. With regards theory I taught myself theory and know fair amount but I also wish I knew more.

purpleblob replied to Happy Jack's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Surely there's a law against such abuse of an instrument ?! Surely ? -
It's totally pointless..... Because his fav. colour is/should obviously be purple !
