Anyone heard of a bass player called Nigel Clutterbuck?
David Nimrod replied to Thunderthumbs's topic in General Discussion
I got a third of the way through, then gave up. IMHO there's precious little musicality here... To those who think this type of playing is cool; What I have to ask is:- why? What's *actually* good about it? OK, it's fast... anything else? There's no real melody that I got, The rythmn was a bit iffy too. (awaits flames ) Oh, and before anybody asks - no I couldn't play like that, No I'm not that 'good' - it's just my opinion -
£575 caseless?
I have to say I bought a '78 Precision in very good order for £510 about 2 years ago... I know that prices have risen a fair bit since then, but this one should be under £500? Because after refinishing etc. etc. this bass will be just that - a refinished Fender. Just my 2 cents

WITHDRAWN: 1975 Fender Jazz SENSIBLE OFFERS PLEASE
David Nimrod replied to Steve A's topic in Basses For Sale
What I mean is, if I was offered £1800 I'd be more definite about selling than if I was offered £1000.
Blimey, I must be out of touch... I couldn't spend £1000 on any bass. And that's probably why I'll never have a vintage Fender -
I am offering my 1961 EBO. I bought it second hand in 1964 and used it for a while but it has been stored for most of its life. It has a small crack in the head near the G tuner but otherwise is in very nice condition. Any serious offers out there?
Wow! that is quite something... looks like a really excellent example. Not my cuppa tea, but if you're into them then this has gotta be worth grabbing...
yeah the pickguard i bought from wd didn't fit my guitar either, but i've bought other parts from both of them which have been spot on.
Come to think of it I don't reckon I've ever bought a scratchplate for a Fender bass that fitted straight off. -
As I expected, everyone here looks for the retail price mostly wants to see. Last time my Lakland DJ5 was for sale, the best retail price was the Bass Centre's one....ok, Bass Centre sells this blonde chunk of wood for 1400£, The Bass Gallery for 1500£, I'm selling for 300£ or more less than the smallest price I've written below and it's a mint condition bass. Here, the street price for this bass is 1500€, someone sells it for 1600€, someone for 1300€. @Rumble: blessed be the day you will finish to compare street prices with eBay prices. I bought a NEW Lowepro Toploader camera bag for 30€ last week (who cares about photography here knows what I'm talking about) ...I would ask to pay the same price for a used one. eBay is also a matter of luck. Bump, by the way. Ah, Happy New Year. This isn't a post without NY greetings anymore....maybe it's still a post for an overpriced bass, who knows
Right on dude (???)
