1. Anyone know if this looks real? Item number: 120193389934 I know very little about 'em
 2.
I don't think anyone disagrees about the sound of ashdown, it's just whether you like that sound or not. He obviously does, so I have nothing to contribute other than my attempt a wit!
Fair enough and good luck with the gig...
 3.
Antibiotics won't put cash back in your wallet after your infection clears up and you realise you've bought an Ashdown!
Perhaps it'd be useful to the OP to detail your opinions of Ashdown amps & cabs...
 4.
Full and organic, like your ears blocked with a horrid yeast infection.
You can get antibiotics for that you know
 5.
I don't want something that cuts through the mix, i want something that makes people want to go to the lavatory but they don't know why.
Brilliant
 6. I use the ABM 500 1 x 15" combo with an ABM 4 x 10" cab. I think it sounds great and I've had no reliability issues. OK, it's not got a 'hi fi' sound - but that's not what I want... It sounds organic, full of life, warm and needs very little eq. But of course you have to try it out for yourself, and enjoy!
 7.
dont do ebay after several glasses of good red wine.
I nearly bought a caravan that way... And I hate caravans
 8.
I suspect that it's the fact that it's a korean rather than a Japanese model that's getting under the OP's skin.
On this point I suspect you're absolutely right
 9.
I wasn't knocking Korean made instruments
I love Korean made basses... I've had more problems with MIM and MIA Fenders than Korean Ibanez basses.
 10.
Each instrument is worth exactly what a buyer is prepared to pay for it.
Obviously not in this case, he has his doubts, hence the thread This isn't about economic theory, it's about whether the Item was mis-described. The bass very probably isn't over 20 years old, and really isn't 'very rare' either. So I'd say it's not worth what the buyer was prepared to pay for it.
 11.
stop buying stuff in the deluded belief that it helps (plus sell the stuff not being used) and start working hard with what I have
Couldn't put it better myself Plus, stop looking at my hands when I play!
 12. My advice would be:- If you haven't paid, try to find a reason not too. £270 is way too much for that guitar. Odd shaped control plate too...
 13. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
 14.
As a cheapskate bodger with reasonable skills, I'd probably glue on a bit of oversized, carve-able plastic or wood then cunningly fashion it into the required 360 deg shaft with a sharp blade.
+1 I used bits of cut up cable tie combined with insulating tape... Not perfect, but it works (for now!).
 15.
Howdy, just discovered this forum by chance, and jolly good it is too!
Welcome, good to have you here
 16.
Its not fun teaching people who want to learn stuff that is of little or no pertinence in terms of their development as a player - 'teach me to shred' would not indicate an inch of genuine commitment to anything remotely musical and I would run a mile. I could work with 'I want ot play the guitar/bass', 'Teach me the scales Malmsteen uses' or 'Teach me the chords to 'Sweet Child Of Mine'. But 'teach me to shred'? Give me a break!
I would totally agree here... a tutor needing the money doesn't justify teaching badly...
 17.
You also cant tell if they have the social skills to be with other people but thats something else
That's one of the the toughest parts of being in a Band... Not the music as much as the interpersonal skills needed
 18. It'd be good if you could post a few photos...
 19.
I must admit, it did cross my mind too!! However, if that's the timeframe he's quoting from the outset, I can't complain if he DOES take 5 months...
Just hope it doesn't take *longer*
 20.
Jon has confirmed it will take a maximum of 5 months.
How can it take *that* long to make a Bass? 'Cos he's making quite a few of 'em I guess! Sounds like a fantastic instrument though Gonna have to be patient... patient... patient.
 21. One question - and apologies if I missed this in the copy... Where's it made?
 22.
Hi There, I have a Yamaha BB5000 bass for sale, 5 strings, as you will know. It's vintage white/cream has gold hardware (a little tarnished) I bought it in the 90's and loved it. I played it in a local church twice a week for a few years, so it's never been hammered, still in the origional hard case and they are both in very good condition. I'm selling it because it's taking up space, I play the guitar more than the bass and have access to a few others bass guitars. The thing is I'm not too sure what it's worth now. If there's anyone interested in buying it or anyone who knows enough about them to give a guide price I'd be very happy. Goober
Hi, it'd be good if you could post a few photos Good luck with the Sale...
 23. £299 for a thru neck bass that's as good as you say... Bargain!!! Of course no one'll buy it 'cos it's a Vintage More fool them I guess!
