  2. It's a bit hard to judge it on its own merits, as a 'new' Beatles song is such a big deal. No, it's probably not as good as the best things they ever did, and yes the production is a bit syrupy, and No, George didn't like it, but for me, a 1978 song by John Lennon that was on a tape labelled 'For Paul' that contains the lyrics 'If I make it through, it's all because of you' with Paul, George and Ringo playing on it is a really beautiful thing to hear. A nice postscript I think.
  3. I wouldn't want to own it, but it's undoubtedly an incredible looking thing!
  4. Sorry, it's been claimed
  5. Both taken.
  6. It's had the ends cut off, so it'll need repaitring. I called in Fender's lifetime warranty, and they wanted a pic of it with the ends cut off. They didn't ask for a reciept or anything, they just sent me a free replacement lead. Yay Fender customer support! Free to good home.
  7. As others have said, No there's no VAT, customs, import duty, window tax etc etc - the price you see is the price you pay. I've always had good dealings with Thomann but I have no experience of returns, so can't comment on that - there are a few horror stories on here and elsewhere about DHL/corner shops not accepting stuff. And yes, the UK adapter thing is a bit of a pain! As someone above mentioned, Andertons are also really good, I'd definitely recommend them.
  8. Very nice and VERY expensive. I'd rather have an original with a few battle scars.
  9. Now £550. Foot pics at buyers cost and risk
  10. I've since discovered another one, five way spliter - Someone save these from landfill!
  11. A new and expensive world!
  12. I've got a 5 way power daisy chain lead you can have for free if you want? DM me.
  13. Is anyone using the Disaster Are DMC micro to control their C4 Presets? Can I use the left hold function on the DMC to engage/bypass the C4 while I'm in Preset mode?
  14. Sold! DM your address and I'll post tomorrow.
  15. Eight male plugs - seven straight and one angled. Free to a good/neutral home. If it's still here in a week, it's going to landfill and on your own head be it.
  16. Me neither! If You buy it, I promise it will go away forever.
  17. Last night- depping with the Manchester Ska Foundation at a wedding in Buxton. Specials, Madness, Bad Manners, Two Tone type stuff with a couple of reggae numbers thrown in. Good fun to play, great musicians (really have to raise my game which is a good place to be), and a cracking crowd - thought the roof was going to come off when we launched into One Step Beyond. Highlights were the Trombone solo in Ghost Town and the drummer absolutely leathering This is Ska. We got the groom up to sing Kingston Town, he did pretty well considering. Played the P (of course) through the Thumpinator and the Sansamp VTDI (set to flip top) - sounded immense, especially with a touch of Bass Boost on the Reggae numbers. Played pretty well and the band like what I do. They're grateful for me stepping in and I'm grateful to be invited. Had a couple of "I can't believe I get to do this AND I'm getting paid for it" moments. Black Sheep was £3-70 a pint, there was food and it was a good payer. The sort of gig that makes it all worthwhile!
  18. These are amazing. GLWTS!
  19. Tonight: Maiden voyage for a new band! Technically the same band but with an added female singer and a new (and very different) setlist. Went really well, considering we were playing Beyonce, Britney, Dua Lipa, Rhianna, Whitney type stuff to a pub mostly full of drunken blokes that had come to watch Rugby and then some Boxing. Couple of rough edges that we'll sort with a couple more gigs, but we had a lot of fun and sounded great. I was ampless (the ONE TIME you don't check the spare Bass amp is in the van...) which wasn't ideal, but the IEMs did OK. On a personal note - I played a 5 String in public for the first time in about 25 years and... the homework paid off. Can't say I didn't drop a note, but I did pretty well IMHO. As we were packing up, the drummer said (out of nowhere) "You're an absolute dude, I f***ing love gigging with you" and the Boss said words to the effect of "well. you're always on it", so I'm happy with that!
  20. I bought fretmeister's Source Audio C4 and he was a pleasure to deal with all the way - great item, good price, good comms, quick (and free Special Delivery) postage, couldn't ask for more. Top Man.
  21. Just to be clear, the pictured case is NOT included, just the tatty gigbag mentioned in the listing.
