  1. Tonight: Ten minutes from home, round of drinks on the house, one set, massive PA provided, dep singer/guitar smashed it, I sang lead on one, done by 8 o'clock and paid in cash. Today was a good day.
  2. SUPERB bit of kit these.
  3. You'll have someone's eye out with that! GLWTS
  4. Absolutely gorgeous Bass and a bargain price. I don't need another P, but lord I want this one! Anyone want to buy a kidney? GLWTS
  5. They look great, thanks DGBass!
  6. I think you should have one of each. Plus a StingRay.
  7. The Cioks AC10 does both! https://cioks.com/power-supplies/linear-range/cioks-ac10/
  8. I get a good DB sound from my Markbass 802, I used to use a MB mini CMD 101, which was lovely for upright. Both louder than the 801 and carryable with one hand. Possibly not as super-duper clean as AER, but decent, affordable, pretty loud amps.
  9. +1 for Harley Benton. I've got the ISO-5 under my small board and it's the bees knees. £42 brand new!
  10. There's one for sale on Basschat!
  11. If you email Hipshot, they're super helpful.
  12. If you google "Tacoma truss rod cover" you'll find a few options - Olympia is the budget Tacoma brand. These look the nicest! http://www.wecinlay.com/truss_rod_tacoma.php I used to have one of those Olympia ABGs - lovely bit of wood.
  13. I bought a MIM 70s Jazz Bass from the Electronic Bay, and the pickups are rubbish. They buzz (more if you touch them), they sound weak and out of phase if they're both turned up full and they don't seem to want to be earthed. Other than that, the Bass is lovely so I'm keeping it - the seller refunded a bit of money so I'm more or less happy. Can anyone recommend me some replacement pickups? I like an old-skool thumpy sort of sound if that helps. I've got my eye on a pair of Bartolinis (Bartolinii?) originals at £156 new, just wondering if there's any others I should know about. Fender noiseless? EMG? Seymour Duncs? Wilkinson? Any other makes I've never heard of? Only interested in passive . All and any input welcomed. Cheers Gratuitous pic of the new arrival
  14. Zombie thread alert! I bought a Harley Benton PowerPlant ISO-5 Pro for my small pedalboard and it is a fantastic piece of kit. Completely silent, so small it fits under a Pedaltrain Nano, five outputs (two are switchable for 9/12/18 volts), tons of milliamps ... all for £42. Superb. https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_powerplant_iso_5_pro.htm
  15. These are FANTASTIC Basses - I love mine. Same colour, you're clearly a man of culture. 😀 I paid more than this for it, so this is a real bargain for someone - it's a lot of Bass for the money. GLWTS
  16. Guitar Guitar is pretty decent - they have a good selection of Basses and the staff are sound. Not sure about a private room but I'm sure there would be a headphones option. No experience of PMT in brum but I'm sure they're nice too! As for trading in the HB- they're cheap as chips brand new, so you'll probably get nothing for it in a trade. They're pretty highly regarded - you might get a few quid for it on here. I'd keep it as a backup/beater/lend it to a mate/travel Bass.
  17. Brian bought some strings from me - super easy and pleasant transaction all the way.
  18. White Faux-con? 😀 Gorgeous looking Bass GLWTS
  19. I bought some strings off Etienne - great comms, quick postage (first class signed for for free!) absolutely top Basschatter.
  20. One, but reading some of these horror stories, I might make it two.
  21. One of my bands use clicks for some stuff - I've never felt it's lifelsess or robotic, and you can be as spontaneous as you like as long as it's in time! I got this gig because I was comfortable playing to a click - Another string to your bow and a useful skill to have IMO.
