  1. This short article about tube rectifiers and power supply sag is an interesting read (well it was to me anyway!) https://reverb.com/news/does-a-tube-rectifier-really-make-an-amp-sound-better
  2. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
  3. I've not tried to upload audio but you can attach files so I think that should work.
  4. Thanks, not quite big enough for my small mixer desk I'm afraid. Cheers anyway and GLWTS
  5. What are the internal dimensions? I looked at the link but couldn't see any specs.
  6. I'm surprised this is still here, they're amazing little combos. Work well for upright and BG and pack an incredible punch for such a small package. I have an old 80s 200MB model which has seen a lot of action over the years and is still going strong!
  7. Hearing a demo on bass would be really useful if you can post one?
  8. What is the exact weight please? An accurate weight in gms if you can (not bathroom scales).
  9. I'm interested too and would love to hear a demo of it being used with bass. I've scoured youtube but can only find demos with guitar, usually as a front end to another valve amp. Can you provide a quick bass demo with this one?
  10. This might help - https://www.electronicstalk.org/polyester-vs-polypropylene-capacitors-which-one/.
  11. Yes I bought it from a very nice chap in California in 2011. The bass was made in 2007.
  12. Yes please, can you dig out the scales and add the weight?
  13. Strings & Things in Brighton are UK distributors for Ernie Ball, it might be worth giving them a call. I needed a new truss rod wheel a few years ago and they were very helpful. https://www.stringsandthings.co.uk/contact-us
  14. Plugging the f-holes would also help to reduce feedback. Something like this - https://reverb.com/item/34668208-f-hole-foam-inserts-reduce-feedback-on-your-late-model-guild-x-175
  15. Just bought a Matt Freeman pickup from Dave. Seamless transaction and received a couple of days later. Pleasure to do business with. Many thanks!
  16. Personally I'd just hang on to the SUB neck in case you ever want to put the SUB back together again. I made the mistake of selling a 'spare' Stingray neck a few years ago and shortly afterwards wished I'd kept it! If you're intent on selling it, then you'd probably realise more value overall by reassembling the USA SUB and selling it as a complete bass and then getting a new body for the SS fretless. USA SUBS are great basses (it's my current gigging bass) and they're pretty well sought after. If you just want a standard SR body (rather than a custom build) you can get one for around £200 from guitarandbassbuilds.com here - https://guitarandbassbuilds.com/collections/custom-bass-bodies/products/custom-shop-music-man-stingray-bass-body.
  17. Hi Dave, I think this one was mine! Fabulous little bass, incredibly responsive and expressive instrument. Played it in a piano trio for a couple of years which eventually folded. Brings back more than a twinge of regret to see it here again...
  18. I found this demo of a Safran which looks very similar in design with single pickup direct to jack
