2.
Nice Set up you have there Neil with the Berg cabs and Aggie head! I am suprised that the Sadowsky has not been replaced by your Skjold as your main bass. Is that because you prefer 4 strings or down to tone or other reasons? Steve
I think I'm a 4 string guy at heart. Also I'm not sure about the extra scale length of the Skjold. My Sadowsky is so nice that I just keep going for that instead - the Sadowsky lives in my practice room and the Skjold is on a stand in the lounge! Love your new addition BTW. Nice colour. Neil.
3. The first Sadowsky I played was one of Birdy's white ones and it led to me buying my RV4. This is my main bass and I'd love to get a 5'er to go along side it. Neil.
4. Post Christmas bump. I've had quite a bit of interest in this bass but it's still here and available. I would rather get a cash sale than trade I'm afraid. I would also rather sell to someone in the UK if possible rather than ship overseas, so apologies to those people that have been in touch from outside the UK. Neil.

7. Thanks for all the info everyone. The mac v PC debate will doubtless rage on! I have used both for my day jobs and confess that i did enjoy my mac experience. Certainly food for thought in all the above replies. One more thing - How dodgy is it to buy second hand laptops? Neil.
8. I am thinking of buying a lap top computer (maybe a Mac) to use just for music ie. iTunes and hopefully to use for some recording. I'm not very technical when it comes to IT issues so could anyone give me an idea of the kind of spec I should be looking for ? Neil
9.
Hi, Is the neck jazz width or precision width? Also you interested in any trades? Dave
Hi Dave, its a Precision width neck. I'm asuming that its the original from before the J pickup was added - a former owner on here may be able to confirm that for you. I've been offered some trades but nothing has stuck yet. You never know though...! Neil.
10. two of the best things I've bought in a while are: Kyle Eastwood's 'Now' Gerald Veasley's 'Your Move'
11.
Rich, get one. And smile!
+1 I'd love to be a one bass guy but this site keeps tempting me that there might be something better out there... I'm playing my Sadwsky Metro RV4 all the time just now. It's such a nice quality feeling bass. I did have a P Bass phase for a year or so but the Sadowsky can just about do anything I need from a bass at the moment. It sounds good on its own and my band prefer how it sounds in the mix compared to my Precision. I'm still not 100% in love with the thing as it has a much narrower neck than my 57 reissue P bass and it feels weird to me to switch back and forth between the two, but most people would find the Sadowsky neck more comfortable I would think. Especially if you're more used to J bass neck dimensions. My plan now is to stick with the Sadowsky and do everything with it. Good luck with whatever you get. Neil.
12.
PM'd you earlier this afternoon with a couple of trade ideas. Any thoughts?
PM'd - Neil.
13.
This used to be mine. It's a lovely bass, although i cannot for the life of me understand removal of the original PUPS for QPs, which would seem the wrong PUPs for the bass. Stick a couple of Wizards in there and you've got 70's bass heaven
The pickups were changed by a previous owner although I did wonder about why they had been changed. They sound pretty good although I hadn't heard the bass before so I can't say whether it's better now or not.
14. FOR SALE - FENDER PRECISION with added J pickup. The bass has an original 1973 body, maple neck with Rosewood board and tuners. It has been fitted with seymour duncan quarter pounders. The bass is currently fitted with TI flatwound strings but I could put some roundwound strings on the bass if prefered. I bought this from a fellow basschatter in the summer for £850 and would be happy to sell it on for the same price. Let me know if you would like to see some more photos as I do have a few more. I am based in Derby. Cheers Neil.
15. Can anyone who knows about Musicman basses help me with some info.? I have recently been thinking about trying a Stingray bass again. I had one briefly a while back but sold it on as I was into my P Bass in a big way at the time and I only bought it on impulse. It was never going to be the one for me. I would like to know a bit more about the specs on Musicman necks. eg. how do they measure up against the standard Fender J and P nut widths etc.? I once tried a bass with a neck that had a similar finish to this: I remeber it felt really good but I wasn't able to buy it at the time. I haven't come across another like it since. Can anyone help with regard to the age of the Musicman basses that would have this type of neck finish. I haven't liked the neck finish on some of the new ones I've tried. All help and advice appreciated. Cheers Neil.
16. I nearly bough a white 'Ray some years ago and didn't. Still think about that one that got away.
17. This is just an idea at the moment but I don't use this bass and it seems a shame to just have it doing nothing. I would be interested in offers around £1000. No trades thanks ....except maybe for a nice old Precision or old Stingray perhaps. Cheers Neil.
18. I am thinking of buying a new combo for home practice and small scale rehearsal etc and remember being impressed a few years ago by the Warwick CL 1x12 combo at a music exhibition at the NEC. Does anyone have real world experience of these combos? Neil.
19.
Cheers for the bump Joe. I might just sell the amp and keep the cab 'cos it's so light & versatile, & has a small footprint, which is great for tight spaces! You can also place the cab horizontally it on top of a 1X 15 without breaking your back!
How much are you looking for for the amp head? Neil.
20.
Neil, I am definitely interested in the bass. Please send me your contact info to: [email protected] Thanks, Pavel
Hi Pavel, sorry but I sold the bass to another 'basschatter' last night. All the best, Neil.
21. I am venturing into the world of the 5 string and so need to move on one of my basses. This is a really nice bass that I only recently aquired but I cannot justify having so many instruments lying around in their cases wasting away. Can't part with my other basses so this one will have to be the one that is sold. Bass is in mint condition. 3 band eq. Original Musicman hard case included in the sale. Not sure of the age but I would think it's relatively new. No dings or dents or buckle rash. Hopefully the photos give you the info that you need. Feel free to ask any questions. Will be able to let this go for £640 ono. I can probably deliver in most areas of central England or Wales. (Sorry, no part ex deals as I am funding my new 5 string.) Neil.
22. Chris, Did I see a photo of this bass with a fretless neck at some stage? I'm interested in another P bass and one with a J pickup might be just the thing. Neil.
23. Nice '57 Chris. BTW, if you're having a clearout I'd perhaps be interested in the fretless with the J pickup! Neil.
24.
Back for Sale £1200.00
I wondered what had happened to this one. Will it be making an appearance at the Bass Bash coming up? Neil.
