  1. Tune Bass Maniac, I tried one in a shop in '87 but I only had 5 minutes with it because my train was leaving soon. It looked a bit of an odd bird but I was impressed with it with the little time I had playing it, I think it was going for £699 at the time. I bought one that came up locally last year, a PJ. The weight, the 'D' profile neck, the balance, all stands up today. Probably the easiest playing bass I've ever owned.
  2. Scrooge Clapton can keep his turkey. He knows where he can stuff it.
  3. Beer trays because the drummer forgot his cymbals. Not my gig, but it did happen.
  4. Ramps. They make a big difference in my experience.
  5. A Yamaha SBV500 I bought out of curiosity many years back, a few years later I bought an SBV550 too. Out of everything I've played, those have had the most comments on the sound of them strangely enough. At the time I paid about a third of what they sell for now. An Ashdown Klystron Bass Magnifier ABM800 I bought in '97, number 35 off the line. I have worked that amp hard through a few different speaker combinations over the years and it has never failed. Had it serviced once.
  6. "Ooooohhh I said I ain't not never got a sausage I gots them old bootlegger blues It might have only sold twelve copies But I could buy a pair of shoes..."
  7. Chord tones on 1 and 3 of the bar, passing notes on 2 and 4. I would stay with the arpeggios and passing notes to outline the changes for now, later you can work on connecting lines between the chords.
  8. "Don't need no drugs Don't need no liquor Said all I want is the key to your Ferrari Your ruby lips, pa! Your perfect figure, eech! I just want the key to your Ferrari..."
  9. Turkey Twizzlers. They got into a flap when they nearly dropped it down the toilet.
  10. String spacing, one is 16.5mm the other 18mm, that makes all the difference in the world to me. It depends on what you like to play as far as techniques are concerned, but you'll have found that out by now.
  11. I hear that out of the 12 people who bought it, 10 wanted a refund.

  13. Would you want to? What has been seen cannot be unseen. Sorry about that...🙂
  14. "Turkey Lurkey Time" is a dance performed by three secretaries at an office Christmas party. Their infectious singing and gyrations build into a frenetic chorus dance, as the office staff copy the trio, climaxing with some atop the office desks. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkey_Lurkey_Time Risqué business.
