1. I was in a band with someone who developed into a great (if sometimes high maintenance) friend for 3 years. If I ever see him again I will give him a proper dry slap.
2. My guitarist finds it hilarious that when I switch my TU-2 to the BASS setting instead of showing G-D-A-E it reads 1-2-3-4.
3. I bought one of the new combos (715X) in July after really liking it on a test play in the shop. After plenty of fiddling in a band scenario the best sound I got out of it was with the graphic off and the pre-shape on. Works well with a precision. Nice punchy sound and the compressor at 8-9 o'clock works great. It's got the nice growly thing going. I found it a bit clean for the band so I stick a bit of dirty Sansamp in front of it and I'm very happy with it now. I should have just bought a Tech 21 head and a cab or two in hindsight. But that's a wonderful thing that you never get to have when you need it.
4.
Why the hate? Adam plays the same instrument as you and me, an instrument you love and try to get as many people to play it as you can. I don't understand all the hate and the negative vibe.
Not as if he's Bono is it? Although he's in the same band so he's down as an accomplice.

6. Cancelled! Just off the phone with the Landlord. Venue can't hold gigs whilst building work goes on to put in purpose built stage, re structuring and PA If anyone local venue wants us (and the support band) to do a gig that night let us know. We'd got a good turn out confirmed. Bugger.
7. Greetings. I've never had a lesson in my life and I'm a world famous rock star now.* We used to learn by playing along to records (as they were called in the Jurassic era). *Sales of my CD have exceded double figures abroad.
8. Looks like my cup of tea.
9. The Red Lion is going to be a Tesco Metro. Pub shut last night. Boooo. This is why our gig on the 21st is a moveable feast at the moment. Might now be on at the Twickenham Tup?
10. Won't be at the Red Lion now. Being converted into a Tesco Metro next week! The promoters are going to honour the gig at another Twickenham venue if they can, At least the Half Moon has been saved.
11. We're a 3 piece........... Recently described as "Sounds like the Rolling Stones playing Parklife" Hope that helps eliminate us.

13. 1. Improve my BV's 2. Write more lyrics and songs 3. Don't get hung up about playing something clever if the song doesn't suit or need it 4. Do around 15-20 gigs 5. New album to be finished and out by summer 6. Get on the wireless 7. Do a festival or two 8. Maybe practice in between rehearsals will help.....
14.
In my view, the best solution is to get a Precision that feels good to play and replace the pickups with something you like to hear. You could even make it active at a later date. Also get straplocks and a good case! You'll be good for the next 40 years!
That's exactly what I've done. MIA Precision, Wizard Thumper, strap locks and Hiscox case. It's a bit boring in that it's killed my bass GAS for over a year though!
15. I'll have the Go, Diago, Go power thingy please. I've got loads of overdraft to accomadate this. No sob story from me. PM on the way.
16. PM'd re Bass Big Muff.
17.
I've always wanted to do 'I'm so bored with the USA' and 'Janie Jones', but the others in the band won't do Clash stuff!
Get a new band. Janie Jones is one of the best rock n roll songs ever. My favourite Clash tune.
18. Reminds me of a friends gig where he had written the set list in pink hi lighter pen. On come the stage lights. Blank page. This is a bloke who'd been on TOTP, OGWT and everything.
19. Gloria. Get easier than that. G.L.O.R.I.A.
20. Paint it fiesta red and bolt on a maple precision neck to make a nice Entwhistle style Fenderbird.
21. A big Earls Court 'tache is vital.
22. You should definitely do it. I haven't clue what you're going on about. I'm just being encouraging.
23. Joe Strummer used to remind himself of lyrics by introducing the song as the first line. For example "This songs called 'Midnight to six man' you might know it better as White Man in Hammersmith Palais" I do the verbal intros to songs and have nabbed the trick "Here's a new one we were going to call F sharp E B D but we thought <song name> sounded better" Happens quite a lot.
24.
I have a fantasy hate band - ColdGreenRazorPatrol - lots of monotonous strummy songs where the bass doesn't come in till somewhere near the end, by which time I've died of boredom.
I've seen them with their shoe gazing, floppy fringed performances at lots of gigs recently.
25. Too frequently I have "how the **** does this one go" moments and have fluffed up at the start or at a chorus, etc.. This is all on songs I've written too. Normally because I've been distracted or had a "have I left the gas on" random moment. I think the time a girls 18th birthday party with the theme 'space sluts' was being held upstairs at a venue I was playing and 30 nubile teenagers in a state of undress filed past is excusable. I just pass them off as experimental jazz solos. Nice.
