1. Don't suck. As long as you play well you'll have a good foot to stand on (I'm just talking about you although it would be good if the band followed suit haha) Chris

ESP Basses

The Bassist from Hi Standard uses ESP Basses and (IMO) they're one of the best pop punk bands ever formed. They make nice noises Chris
3. Just off the top of my head Keeping in mind here I work security for a big venue so I think I've got a little advantage hehe : Work: Where to begin haha... The most recent one for me was doing a super hand shake tango with the guitarist from Lamb of God mid set. He pulled away with a finger pop and strum . Walked Noel Gallagher to his dressing room amongst screaming fans (also one of the last ever Oasis shows) Had a conversation with M Shadows from AX7 about Jim Carey and where the Monster tent was at Sonisphere The Bring Me the Horizon Bassist fell on me mid set Bands I've met playing with: Check out my page Random street meetings: Pretty sure I was face to face with the blonde woman from 'how clean is your house'. But I'll never know! And for everyone who knows who Limmy is (Scottish comedian, check him on YouTube) (and no not lemmy), I walked past him the other day. He had his straight face on :| and then somebody honked at him and he was like 'WEEEY Casual outings Went out with Aaron Barrett from Reel Big Fish, Big D and the Kids Table and Sonic Boom Six Smoked a fat one with Simon Neil from Biffy Clyro Sang with the Ex Chiodos singer Craigery Owens Not trying to story top anyone of course! I just think I've done allright for only recently turning 20! Chris

7.
Whoever is on the trumpet (I assume?) at about 1.35 sounded awful. Didn't think the sax was that bad (though obviously not perfect). The rest of the band, or at least the parts I could hear, sounded great though! I'd agree with your diagnoses that the brass is letting down the band. The aformentioned bit at 1.35 really stuck in my head and marred what is, to my ears, a good song.
Haha, nahh it was Trombone. But it came to my mind earlier that he is starting to take a Trumpeters approach to playing (which isn't good) Cheers for that dude If they'd just practice man, it would make me jump for joy. It was meant to be just sax and my brother on guitar and backing and myself playing bass and on lead. My trombone player is admittedly very vain (N) Chris
8. I had no idea where to put this video so please say if you think it doesn't fit here! Basically, the drummer, guitarist and myself think that our brass section is bringing us down at our gigs and our practices This is a recent example: We did a acoustic show at the weekend in Brixton and we feel that the brass played badly timing wise, had some hints of good and when they felt it was necessary to play, they played, instead of sticking to planned routine. That's our sax player going 'wooh' out of time and you might hear our trombone players sudden urge to fill a gap haha We were trying to keep the horns to a minimum as they overpowered us at points and it was a 100% non-amplified All tho we have told the brass players time and time again that they need to practice (everyone else puts in at least an hour) they still don't (or they haven't shown it so far) and we have a wedding with a full set of covers to play soon... What will it take to make them see? We don't want to kick them out but man, sometimes... Chris P.s (I couldn't get the video to rotate and I'm sorry if the swearing offends you, it's not everybody's style)

11. Good answers haha. I ask this question not because I want the title... but because I would like to know how you could rank such a thing. Wouldn't mind having the title aswell tho haha Chris
12. How do you achieve the title of 'Best Bassist in the world'? Do you need to be able to play 3 basses at once or something? Chris

14. Go for a Ashdown Little Giant 1000 and a USA Ashdown 4x10. Under grand for the set and the cab is super light. I pulled my back out slightly on my other Ashdown and I can carry my 4x10 with one hand. Sound wise, I don't even need to change any settings and it's perfect. Recently got the combo and i've played about 10 gig with them on big and smalls stages. I'm never going back! Chris
15. Rolo just sound like noise live. The girl has some growl on her tho Chris
16.
Will pop along to Annan gig if i'm off. Our band practise in the Bluebell in Annan, singers mother owns it which is handy, share practise room with a ska band called more from jim dont know if you know them they are about your age. Anyway hopefully see you on the 17th April Ash
I've only ever been to Annan a couple of times and coincidently enough... It was to play with More From Jim haha. They're a good bunch and we've played with them a few times now. If you could make it that would be phenomenal. Might even be a drink in it for ya Chris
17.
Mucky Mulligans was fantastic when we played there. is deeker putting it on by any chance?
It's still deeker putting on shows yeah as far as I know anyway. I don't deal with the bookings, so sometimes it's hard to keep up. So far the first 4 shows of the year have been a success! 4 more gigs to play this weekend which will hopefully be awesome aswell. Still haven't seen any BassChatters on the case (or maybe I have and they've just been too shy to say hello haha) Don't be shy peepz! Come down and say hello even if you don't want to stick around for the gig or you do stick around for the gig and don't enjoy it haha, us bassist need to stick together anyway! Another excuse to drink aswell Chris

20. I think I am posting this in the right place. Basically, I stepped on my conector lead (speakon to jack) and the tip of the jack is stuck in the cab. How do I get it out? I've tried using tweezers and even a really small knitting needle. no avail Any tips? Chris
21. scales! scales! scales! mon frere! Learn every scale you can get your hands on and then use em Improvisation is all about knowing where to go next without thinking about it that much and when you know all of your different scales going all the way up the neck you can do exactly that. Your solo improv will get better and better rather quickly which you and your teacher will notice Chris
22. I asked for a custom and ended up with an animal :|
23. I' the hairy 6'5 tenor that does all the harmonies/backing vocals and a great deal of lead vocals aswell. My brother (the guitarist) does all the rest (check us out if you wanna see what I mean . I was a singer before I was a bass player so I've found that once I got up to scratch with playing that it was a fairly easy transition into singing whenever I wanted to. moral of the story... it doesn't matter what you do... practice! practice! practice! haha Chris
24. Sweet Bongos
9 times out of 10 we are stuck at the back next to the drummer,so why not play something that makes people turn their heads and look. Death to boring bass design!
Sing more and you'll be allowed to stand wherever you want haha Chris
