1. Just getting a bit twitchy - I ordered a couple of pickguards off Roger 2 weeks ago and so far no show. I just wondered if this length of time is normal?
2.
Has anyone seen or tried a Fusion 550?
Never even seen one in the flesh...but I'd like to try one.
3. Just wanted to say that I went to Sound Control in Manchester (Salford) last night to see Fender clinician and unbelievable guitarist - Greg Koch, who had Reggie Hamilton looking after the rumbly bits. Greg was his usual flamboyant self but I was really impressed with our Reggie and even more so after checking his website this morning and seeing some of the people he's played with - I never realised his pedigree until now. He was using his signature bass (Mexican) through a Fender head and 8x10, which sounded fantastic and he really astounded the audience with his chops. Can't believe these events (with world class musicians) are free.
4. I'm with dlloyd on this - buy a used Sterling - I think there's two up for sale on here now and I would imagine the price would be in the same ball park.
5. I just watch the drummer's chest
6. I think they were GS112s weren't they?
7. Nowt wrong with my timing - or our drummer's for that matter - she's top drawer and the band's as tight as you'll find. I just find it a bit weird that I can't tap my foot when I'm playing.
8. Hi muya - it might be worth editing your first post cos I think people see the price there and then don't see your last post because they look no further.
9. I wanted to buy two of these in black - one with, and one without a tweeter but couldn't find a tweeterless one at the time. I'd love a pair of these - don't care if they are a bit heavy.
10. It's just that sometimes I have problems finding "the groove" and it makes me wonder if my playing is purely mechanical. I also dance like a Thunderbird puppet
11. I've discovered that I can't play my bass whilst tapping my foot to keep time - it puts me off. I have to think about tapping my foot and this causes me to lose concentration on what my fingers are doing. Anyone else have this problem?
12. Thought it'd be something like that. TBH, that's why I sold my 'Ray - 'cos my Sterling has that sound covered and I wanted something else a bit different so I bought a Lakland DJ. Very pleased with it. Beautiful Ray BTW - loving the white pup.
13. Here's a few more FOC
14.
Looking for either sale or possible trade for another 5 stringer (Bongo, Lakland DJ or JO etc...)
As a matter of interest OHM, what don't you like about the 'Ray5?
15.
as Homer would say....... "...... Mmmmmmm P-bass, Flats..........!"
"Mmmmmmmmmm P-bass, Flats........!"
16. Ooh - that looks familiar...35" scale by the way
17. I do things that really stretch me - at the moment I'm learning Steely Dan songs. I'll never play 'em live (I wish) but I am learning some new fills and bass lines.
18. Just ordered me a Hiscox - thanks fellas.
19. If you can work a Nordstrand loaded mint condition Sterling into the equation, then count me in OHM.
20. If I was spending £400 on a cab, I'd buy an Aguilar DB112. I've had a couple of GS112s and they were excellent but just a bit too mid shy for my liking. The new DB range are supposed to be a bit better in the mids.
21. Thanks for that John.
22. I used to have a Hiscox for my Spector - lovely case but at £65 it's £18 more than the Gator SC I was just about to order from here http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product~name~G...ass~ID~1192.asp
23.
If you happen to let your Stingray go, let me know.
Sorry but you're too late - the Stingray funded the Lakland!! I put it up for sale a while ago because my Sterling does the 'Stingray sound' so well albeit with less bottom end and I wanted something to give me a different sound. Anyway, I withdrew it and decided to keep the 'Ray but then a couple of weeks later, another BCer offered me what I paid for it and the the rest is history.
24. A lakland Darryl Hannah 4 with J-Retro and Hipshot Detuner thingy....go on Soulfinger - be the first
