1. All the screw holes should fit, whether it's a tight neck pocket is another question....should be fine I reckon! I put an allparts neck on an old encore bass and even that was a perfect fit! Si

8. Hey mate, what are the body and neck woods? And do you know what pickups it's routed for? Cheers Si
9. I do like a nice simple groove Si

11. Haha, indeed, I was only playing devils advocate really, I've never tried a Fodera. Richard Bona's has always sounded stunning live and he tends to run it passively (although his does have a pope preamp also). Mike is a fanstastic Bass Player and a brilliant Pianist as well! Si
12. Yeah I'd give one a go! I've always been quite fond of their headstocks, just not their active-ness, so the new passive gear looks nice! I guess its just the same as Lakland doing fender copies, they just know what people want! Si
13. Sounds very cool, and i'm not negating the fact that this was an awesome bass! But you said "one of the best basses...", would I be right in thinking 'one of the other best basses' you've ever tried have been half the price! lol FWIW, Mike Pope is a particularly interesting guy, incredibly talented musician, so I'm not surprised that his preamp rocks Si

15. FSOF & covers gig additions! Si
16. Well you're a more trusting person than us then! Si
17. Glad you got a refund mate! but I'm sorry, any guitar 'specialist' will know the basics of vintage basses also! I'm into vintage basses and as a result I know a bit about vintage strats etc, they just go hand in hand! If he genuinely thought it was a '62, why was it only £400? Anyway, glad it's sorted Si
18. It would appear that's what you've got to me! The more I look at the shape of the headstock....looks weird, could just be the angle I guess! If he's saying that it's a full on '62, then you should get your money back based on that alone, none of that hardware is from anywhere close to that era, the body is a refinish at the very very best, but probably a generic jazz, and the neck and stamp seems dodge! If it was me, I would pull out! Si Edit: WoT got there before me. Looks like some rubbish he's put together then, seeing as the 'customiser' listed it himself
19. Here's a picture of an actual '62 date stamp: The size of the stamp on yours differs, although I don't know if this is common, but the one thing I would say is that the number relates to what it was, eg the 7 in my picture means it's a Jazz Bass......so what's a 12? Also the fingerboard on yours looks a lot chunkier, with a different size/shape truss rod screw Dubious in my opinion, but I'm no expert... Si
20. Still loving this!! We'll see what happens when I get my rebate through! Si
21.
*bursts into tears* *runs out of the door*
Sorry WoT Suffice to say that it's looked after, played with love and used very often! Si
22. Unfortunately not, or I'd be a lot richer lol From what I remember, its bedding for Elvis & Jimmy.....guinea pigs! (they're not mine) Si
23. Most of the main pickup manufacturers do MM style pickups. From what I've heard, Seymour Duncan are pretty close to a stingray sound. I've had personal experience with Bartolini as I've got them in my OLP, they sound great, smoother than a standard MM pickup although I'd only use those if the bass was active, they're severely under-powered when run passive. Lots of people on the board swear by Wizard pickups also, although I haven't heard anything about their MM pickups specifically, mostly their P & J setups Good luck Si
24. Well I'm at 3 Jazzes, and my Precision has a Jazz neck lol Love 'em Si
25. Fliplowe, it might be worth sending a little follow-up email. Yours might have been lost in the muddle, and it's unlike Dan to not reply! Si
