1.
Do you know where they live? Go and visit 'em. It's easy to ignore/fend off communication at distance, it's not so easy when it's face to face. If you think there will be aggro/contentious things said and want some reassurance/witnesses, take someone along with you.
yeah.. The one who asked to borrow - lives right across the road from my mum. She's already went over (since she's the one now wanting it) and the guy got grumpy. I then got a facebook mail - she went over again 2 days to chase up, I got a facebook message. I've now replied saying its not me he should be dealing with. Since I pretty much know nowt
  2.
Possibly a bit soon to go legal. I'd insist it is returned whatever condition it is in - damp is not going to totally destroy a PA system. Not going to be easy thought if you haven't been in touch with the borrowers for years. "Anyone got any advise to what I can do? Since I'm now getting Facebook messages about it (when it has nothing to do with me!)" That's not strictly true, is it, if you were the one who facilitated the loan?
Well they knew at the time It wasn't my equipment (My mum and step dad used to run a disco thingy) - They asked me, I asked her. So thats as far as my involvement went as far as I can tell. I hadn't thought damp alone would totally kill it..
  3. Hey guys, Hoping for some advise here. A few years ago, I loaned a PA to some mates to practice with. It was actually my mums PA but she OK'd it on the condition it came back. Well I have pretty much stopped talking to these guys now, and now my mums after the equipment back., Downside is that the guys have said that PA was destroyed due to damp. This I didn't know - I thought they'd be covering all the equipment up generally. I spoke to them a few years back and asked for it for her then (2008/9?) and got no reply. I asked the bass player when I last saw him (maybe a year ago?) if I could get it back. He had said it wouldnt be an issue and he'd get in touch. No reply. It seems I'm now in the middle which is somewhere I'd rather not be. It was a fairly powerful Peavey one (with speakers etc) Anyone got any advise to what I can do? Since I'm now getting Facebook messages about it (when it has nothing to do with me!) Cheers
  4.
The JO is a fine bass. American Laklands are better than the Asian ones, IMHO, but this doesn't mean they aren't really well put together. I wouldn't have thought there's any difference in value. If anything I'd think the JO was potentially worth more (unless the MM has been modded with something like a John East pre-amp - these are seriously good by the way).
I think the US and Skylines can vary majorly - i personally prefer my skyline to the US one. Still feels better than most of the fenders i've tried imo of course! If you're not happy with the MM i would trade. Laklands have brilliant necks - not sure on the width of the JO5, but my DJ4 has a lovely thin one. Trade, then if you find its not for you - trade it again.
  5.
His duet "Dot" are pretty cool too. A mix of Dubstep & Metal.
I thinks thats just the Multiwave and BEF. Need to try that one. They came from the sky is one I love.
  6. More interest but nothing else.
  7. Brilliant. Im a massive fan of Max.
  8.
It feels sluggish when I'm on it, takes ages to display when I get to it from another page, and I occasionally get this message: 502 Bad Gateway Anyone else in the same predicament? More likely to be my ISP, or something on this site? All other websites I visit seem fine.
I'm having same issue. Tried to check Facebook but couldn't find BC :s
  9. Give EskimoBassist a shout. He's after an Oxide.
  10. Nom! Very nice! Also good choice pups!
  11.
I think quite a few TimmyC fans picked up one of these thinking they would get the self-titled style sound and were sorely disappointed.
That, ampeg with jazz got me near enough
  12. Try and find the MK1 mate brilliant pedal. Regret selling mine!
  13.
I loved MGS. Never played the next gen version though. I'm still waiting for a song about how sparkly granite is in the sun, but it always rains. Which makes Aberdeen invisible 99% of the time!
Might try that
And yeah, MGS is pant wettingly awesome! If I wasn't so bass gear obsessed I would have got the HD Collection for the Xbox by now
I just wish they'd included the 1st one. I've wasted sooooo much time with those games! Might see if I can try a MB head.. Maybe the LMII.
  14.
BTW is the band name reference to Metal gear??????
Yeah man FOXDIE = Nerdiest band ever. We have songs about call of duty, mass effect and a local beer, among other geeky stuff. Miss our old intro track. Was a snake codec convo. Thanks majorly for this guys! Looks like i'll need to try LOTS! Might need to do a trip downsouth too!
  15.
SVT 2 Pro and 810 and a new house!
Hah! I would love that! Even better with 2... Old school Tim C.
Hi woodyratm. I have a Barefaced Super 12 without a tweeter. I play a 4001 through an SVT4 Pro. I can't say I found any lack of top end, but these things can be quite subjective. I'm about an hour or so's drive from you. If you want to try it out then I'm sure we could arrange something. Cheers.
That would be amazing! Where are you based mate? I've used the SVT 4 pro. great amp! Has anyone used the orange bass terror with several fx? All the videos and stuff i've read just seems to mention it for cleans and dirty tones. Once my new bass is done, i'd like to gigbag it, amp in one hand, cab in the other.
  16. PT-pro sold (thankfully in Aberdeen )
  17. I'll do the Pedaltrain pro for £120 delivered now. Quite fancy ordering my new board (to stop me thinking...oh I have a space there.. I should fill it...) It's £177 online (cheapest I could find) and it's pretty much brand new.
  18. Cheers guys, I shall have a look on youtube and see what like Also have emailed Alex to see what his thoughts are.
  19.
Barefaced S12T and one of loads of Class D amps might suit.. Genz/TC/Markbass are the mainstream contenders...
I was thinking Barefaced actually, though I'd be worried about the tweeter since i've never owned a cab with one... I hear stories pretty often of people busting their tweeters etc... I do have quite alot of low end at times. What are the sounds of those heads generally like, I think my amp sound is pretty vintage sounding (think RATM kinda) so some valve grit and not that clean. So I'm unsure if Markbass would be suitable?
And GK! I'm not sure why they're so often overlooked. The MB500 or Fusion would do well in a lightweight setup. Also there's the NEO cabs, I use an MB Fusion and one 212NEO at some gigs and it does a great job.
What kinda sound does the GK amps tend to give? I used to have one of the GK 212Neo cabs, and found it abit - well high? Like modern sounding? cheers folks
  20. Hey guys, In the next few months my band should be gigging again. My problem is I have absolutely no backline now! My requirements are:- a decent wack of power, the band are loud (scratch...guitarist is loud), but we always play with PA support. Lightweight - I live in a top floor flat in a pretty shady area of town. So if possible, carried into the flat in 1 trip - so sadly no Ampeg valve heads! Or Mesa 400+ heads. Been there before, and as much as I'd adore one, they're just to heavy for me. Same applies to big cabs - just dont have the space. Cost - currently this isnt a factor, as its something I can put money aside for in the next few months. Soundwise - I use lots of fuzz tones and filters and play rock/synth/dubstep/metal kinda mix. So something that lets the fx shine through and not just muddy the waters as it were. I have a newish style Astra so most cabs should fit, though I do often have to carry other equipment... I'm not likely to really test much since we have nowt up here but I could travel to Glasgow/Edinburgh. Sooo - any thoughts?

    We're back...
I spent time on Pornhub......I quite liked it. A few more cocks than on here, but only just
Yet still less cocks than another well well know bass site...
  22. Bought Graeme's Sonuus B2M - brilliant to deal with, no issues at all and it arrived really quickly. Buy/Sell with confidence!
