  1. And it’s finished. Glad to know I can stop the endless pursuit of new shiny pedals and finally focus on learning to play bass 🙏
  2. So I got it working (not wired) but I can have the Halberd, Dagger and OC5 up front. Then the 0xEAE and expression pedal next to each other on the right with the Alma at the top at 90 degrees although that’s for sale so will probably remove it anyways. It’s gonna be tight but all very useable.
  3. That could work, I've quite enjoyed having the pedals roughly inline with their order in the chain but I think now I'm gonna have to get creative. I also have an EAE Dagger to fit on there imminently 😅 Originally I thought the 0xEAE was going to be one of those pedals that just might not justify quite being on a gigging board but it sounds great.
  4. This new 0xEAE Fuzz presents a logistical issue 😂 It’s absolutely brutal 😂
  5. The Digibeth sounds great, especially for the price. I the ability to have a great sounding board that you wouldn’t have to remortgage you house to replace is even more valuable. Rusty Box is the one preamp I’ve really wanted for ages but just never have the funds when they come up. That or they’re just as much as buying new. The search for the perfect preamp is never truly over
  6. I actually still have some patches I uploaded to Tone Exchange last year here too although I haven't looked at them in ages so not sure if they're any good tbh 😂
  7. Heres some of my go-to effects so far with the GT1000core and general findings. RAT rough but excellent in the right place (does what it does best and sounds identical to my ears) HM-2 again gnarly but sounds spot on, great for blending with other drives to add a little harshness BASS DRV (Sansamp) does a really solid sansamp thing, doesn't get too dirty but adds a really nice warmth even with gain down. Useful for blending and general tone shaping X-BASS I don't know if its a GT1000 specific effect or modelled on another Boss pedal but this one is great, can get brutal or be used to just thicken things up a little X-DRV BS preamp, rarely use as a preamp but can make for some pretty great drive tones Non drive specific stuff Compression - BOSS COMP or X-BASS both excellent but tends to depend where in the chain it is, usually just trial and error picking which I use. Noise supression - I have this set up following the "Advanced noise gate 2" approach seen here. Speaker sim - I tend to not bother and just rely on the Capo HPF but when I do use it I have some stuff uploaded from the Shiftline IR pack. Excellent sounding and free! If I want a clean signal blending in to a single effect I'll often use the DIR MIX and pop in what sounds right, sometimes I've found that if it doesn't sound great or I have lots of effects that would benefit from a clean blend then I'll use a divider. I used to go straight for the dividers all the time when I first got a CORE but now I use it more sparingly, it tends to ramp up complexity quite quick which is fine for home use but I found it to be a pain at rehersals if I needed to tweak levels slightly. I found that matching the frequencies for LPF and HPF always led to a big bump in those frequencies.
  8. If we're talking analog vs digital then there are plenty of examples out there of amazing sounding digital effects, some almost perfect emulations of their real counterparts. Certainly enough that it would be virtually impossible to tell in a live environment. If were talking multifx vs dedicated pedals then for me its mostly down to to if the all-in-one unit has all the options I want. There is so much variety in the dedicated pedal world that cater for anything you want, particularly useful when you want to go a little off the beaten track of Tube Screamer, Klon and SVT emulations etc. That being said stuff like the GT1000 or Dwarf with all the signal routing options lets you combine and compose the effects in ways which wouldn't really be practical in a real board to create some really interesting fx. If you're happy with the effects there or willing to compromise a little then its a hard sell not to go on the multi route if you're utilising enough fx to justify the cost. PS The MOD Dwarf has some of the best modulation stuff I've heard on a multifx unit, some really out there stuff too thats much more in the quirky boutique realm.
  9. I love multifx and dedicated pedals (analog or digital). The big brand multifx in particular are all incredible quality and stack up perfectly against their physical pedals with the right settings. If they happen to have the things you need then the convenience is hard to beat. Personally I prefer a hybrid approach, I’m yet to find a preamp I like as much as the Capo or a drive I like as much as the Halberd on a multifx so combining them in fx loops on the gt1000core is the perfect compromise.
  10. I’ve been playing Riot by The Jesus Lizard all week 🔥
  11. What compressor are people using on the gt1000? I’m always surprised how good the Boss Comp and X-Comp bass sound once dialled in.
  12. I love it but to be honest I’ve had to turn it off at rehearsals and gigs because I have loads of squash and saturation coming from my Halberd drive and tube amp. It’s a shame because it’s excellent and now the mk2 is out the price has hiked but I’m trying to be strict with myself!!!
  13. I can’t justify that only 1 out of my 4 basses is a Yamaha BB… I did see a pretty nice white 1024x on Facebook 🤔
  14. Absolutely fantastic compressor based on the Dimond comp with some refinements. I’m gonna regret getting rid as it’s pretty special but I don’t need a compressor on my current board so it’s gotta go 🥲 Loads of glowing reviews of this comp, it’s certainly my favourite I’ve tried although I’ve never had a Cali76. A bargain price of £125! Can post at buyers expense (usually around £8 tracked)
  15. Great little wallet/space friendly fx loop with blend. Useful for dialling in some clean blend, especially when using multiple drives where stacked clean blends start to just sound muddy. Just generally a handy utility to have available. All fully functional, few small chips in paint on the corners but generally good condition. Price includes UK postage.
  16. Excellent little utility pedal, really useful for practice or popping at the beginning of the chain so you can loop your bass while you dial in settings. Got a multifx unit with a looper built in so don’t really need this. Price includes postage in the UK
  17. Had this DI sat around for ages currently not getting used as I use the Capo for all things DI now. Amazing quality for the size and price, noticeable improvement over the cheaper DI boxes and perfect to mount on a pedalboard, IMO this DI is the pivot point from which diminishing returns kick in. I actually managed to fit it under a Rockboard tres 3.0 board 🙌 Postage available at buyers expense.
  18. First things first, this pedal is excellent but just not what I need right now. For anyone who hasn't heard about it, it's designed to emulate Justin Chancellor's main drive tone in a single pedal, a modded RAT with EQ and a clean blend (possibly one of the best clean blends I've heard). That being said it's capable of way more than that, it can get add a really nice warm saturation all the way up to searing tight fuzz tones. For more checkout the Lusithand website. It's an excellent pedal which I'd love to keep but it's not quite right for the band and therefore I can't justify keeping it. These are £215 I believe so save yourself some cash! Boxed and postage can be arranged at buyers expense. Here's great a review @0175westwood29
  19. Back in the GT1000core club! Posted in Post your pedalboard already but included a diagram of how it’s configured with my other effects: Looking forward to getting in and creating some patches! Was thinking of having a play with assigns to see if I can do some eased volume changes via footswitches and stuff. If work out something useful I’ll post it up here.
  20. I was looking at the 1024/1024x there weren't any in the area and as superficial as it seems I really like the fretboard markers on the 734 😂
  21. Yeah its a truely remarkable bit of kit, I think it goes well beyond my needs. I think the big selling point for me was how much flexibility there is to go off the beaten track, rather than just being full of various Tube Screamer clones etc it has some really unique stuff in there. For me the reverbs and delays are where this really shines, if I was more familiar with synths I'm sure I'd be blown away by the functionality there too. The mastering plugin which is included in incredible too. As for the FX loops I did use the 2 channels as FX loops and it was great, for me I just found having 2 dedicated fx loops along with the in/output was a must but I'm aware it's incredibly convoluted 😂 I'd love to keep it if I could justify having it but at the moment anything that doesn't sit on my board is up for the chop 😭
  22. Not the biggest board but certainly plenty complicated 😂 Signal path is easiest shown in a diagram, pedals aren't quite the same but same idea: This means I can get the Pre and Post DI signals from the capo while essentially having my analog pedals and the Capo preamp section as moveable blocks within the GT1000core. It's a little convoluted but means I can put the GT anywhere I want in the chain (except between my drive pedals) and have the option to apply cabsims through the DI while keeping my amp signal without.
  23. Ahh ok that makes sense, I guess more accurate would be that it saves me the hassle of charging batteries in that case! Good to know, tbh it’s kind of handy having it there as a kill switch with a dead battery in like how I got it 😂
  24. Well another update, the BB734 is incredible. Pretty much just using it in passive mode currently as active seems like a waste of battery when I’m using it flat anyways. It’s nice to have an active preamp that sounds identical when flat to when bypassed too. Action isn’t quite as low as I’d like it but still pretty good, better than my Schecter P4. Fret work is great and I actually don’t mind the fretboard radius despise all my other basses being very flat in comparison. While the painted neck feels great I’m still not onboard with the look but gonna give it some time before I make a rash decision. Very happy overall, just wish I’d got one sooner and saved myself some time and money!
