Definitely has some cool features, will be interesting to see what the new amp modelling sounds like. I find it funny how excited people are about the bass-centric Anagram despite the fact it ship with so little, the Stadium is clearly guitar focused but still ships with double the number of bass amps. The anagram amps dont even model saturation! The stuff about captures was all very ambiguous but the cloud training was cool. The search functionality was welcome, I’d love to have the option to toggle visibility of effects so you could hide all the stuff you're not interested in too. Some very cool stuff in there id never use like on-device stem splitting of uploaded mp3s so you can cut out the bass etc. Would be really handy for practicing. I'm very excited to see what the Stomp equivalent looks like in a few years. God its an ugly design though, inside and out.

This is basically the answer to the original question, the amp isn't breaking up and any saturation is coming from the drives you're adding. This mirrors what others have said. It's ace that you're getting the tone you want though and it sounds like a lot of people are blown away by it too 🙌 I'll probably be looking to grab one at some point once they have a few more effects and hopefully a streamlined capture workflow. I'd like to know that the amp models are useable for the tones I want though, because 3-4 captures get used up fast (my current basic QC patch has 6-7) and I dont like DG drives as much as I’ve tried to.

PS I love the 1024x, its my new go-to bass for sure. Really loving the p/j configuration.

That would be great, I really want mine in a sea foam green. The burst finish is the only thing I dislike about my 1024x.

My initial question was regarding the Peggy model. I’ve heard conflicting statements regarding how it does/doesn't saturate. Someone suggested it was a capture and that was why it lacked gain I believe, I suggested that you'd still expect breakup if it was a capture. All I’m interested in is if the Peggy or GK models have the capacity to break up but seems impossible to get an answer 🤣

Yeah, I'd still expect even a little saturation though if it was a capture and I pushed it aggressively. The suggestion from Ivan was that it was impossible to get any distortion whatsoever, not even a hair of break up by pushing.

Not arguing with that at all, I’ve captured most of my stuff at a variety of settings to get the widest range of useful captures. Again not questioning the quality of the model, purely pointing out that Id expect a capture to have at least some breakup when pushed. Possibly depends on what input signal was used to train it I guess though.

Yeah, I wasn't implying model vs capture was better or even that the SVT on the Anagram was lacking. I’ve heard that the SVT and GK had infinite headroom and couldn't be made to break up, people have also said they've boosted the signal to push the models to break up and get some saturation. Just curious which is true. I’ve not heard a single comment implying the models sound bad though so they've got that bit nailed 👌

Although tbf you'd expect a capture to respond much more like the real thing when you push the input in most cases.

This is the onboard model of the SVT, same with the GK. It could just be a capture under the hood though I suppose.

I think what they were saying though is that the model has infinite headroom so no matter how much you push the input it will just get louder until digital clipping which isn't fun. Are you sure its the SVT that is getting creamy or is it the overdrive? Not meaning to be pedantic, just genuinely curious as I do tend to like a little more grit!

It'd be interesting to hear how you get on with overdriving the SVT, the post I read was that the model didn't distort like the real amp and just clipped.

Very excited to hear your thoughts. I'm pretty confident ill be switching from the QC to the anagram, mostly for the smaller footprint. It'd be interesting to hear how you find the capture process if you do delve in. I'm really not a fan of DG drives and was pretty underwhelmed at how few captures are available on tone3000. I’ve been spoilt by the Cortex Cloud and almost always being able to find captures of the thing I want or at least something very similar.

I'm still flip-flopping between a pedalboard and a processor-stand/pedalboard fusion. Both sound largely the same, both have their own perks. I do need to pick which I wanna keep though and sell the other, the shelf of shame is getting pretty full!

I’ve got a modified Schecter p bass which sounds incredible, however ive just come to terms with the fact I like jazz necks better. It’s a shame because its a beautiful slim neck profile, reinforced with graphite rods etc. Tempted to try a cheep one however no body makes any with the right square heel shape. Would need quite a bit of adjusting. Not to mention loosing the heel adjustment.

Yeah literally plugged the usb into my phone and hit record on the native camera app, didn't even need to change any settings!

Game changer, realised I can just plug the Katana GO straight I to my phone to record little ideas straight onto my iphone via the native camera app 🙌 Its so much easier than booting up logic and connecting everything up.

Cool will have to give it a go. I'm sure I can get a little template set up in logic with all the correct routing etc and see how it compares.
