1. Anyone notice it has the proper 70,s pickup spacing.? It's what Japan Fender used to call a non export model.
2. The LH3 found in the later 5502 is great. I had a 5501 Deluxe. Put in a Glock preamp and a pair of Nordstrand Fat Stacks. Sounded amazing.
Happy days! Didn't realise these were routed so cleanly (i.e. not a big old chunk out the body) so you can remove the scratchplate. If I wasn't tempted before I am now.....
Well there isnt a route as such, but the front pickup routing is not as snug as the back pickup. Was the same on the 5 string. Just to let you know.

Got this little number. Most know how good these basses are. Way beyond there price. Sire V7 Vintage. I havent played a 4 string for a few years, so this is a joy to play. I had the 5 string version but in tobacco. A little too heavy for me. Its been upgraded with a HipShot bridge and Nordstrand NJ4 single coils. The stock pickups sounded good anyway, but the Nordy's have a bit more warmth and punch, and the highs are more subtle. (imo) So much power on tap, its just a beast of a 4 string. Ive owned alot of Jazz basses, and i would say this is the best tonally. It just growls big time. It has some dings and knocks, needs some foam under the pickups. Does it bother me. Nope. So great to be playing again.
5. Single coils, (and the way they wound them) thickness of the wire. and 70's spacing. The old wood may have something to do with it. And a little bit of nostalgia of course. Also, our brain does have a tendency to see things differently, when there is something expensive involved. All these put together are a recipe for bass love. I don't believe in the word MoJo.
6. That is actually a joy, just to look at.!!
7. I get the feeling that a floppy B string is a neck construction thing. but also from the pickups involved. just sayin.
8. This is an American standard right.?
9. Yeah pretty sure it's a 1990 AT.
10. How many digits afterwards. Looks like a 1990 American traditional to me.
11. Can i be honest. Ive listened to it without a beer, and its not as good. There called beer headphones.. Erics guitar playing is annoying. I will stand by Mono's bass playing though.
12. I may have posted this before , but i dont care. Top there game these legendary musicians. Dwayne (MONO) is a beast on the bass. his playing is way out there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_AQh4MCq9s
13. Set up numbers.? Why don't you just set it up to an action that feels good.Set it up as a Fender Jazz.? I'm confused.

16. The Aguilar is now sold One of the best amps in the business. Great Aguilar sound with massive power and a fantastic sounding amp. A great rack tuner from Korg. Most know Korg dont make these rack mounted tuners anymore, and dont come up very often. I want to sell them together to be honest. But £400 for the Aguilar and £50 for the Korg.. The Korg is immaculate and comes in original box. The Aguilar has scratches on the top of the amp right hand corner..but other than that its in great condition, and good working order. and will be packed with a Thomann amp/and accessory bag with strap Both will be shipped/packed well. Shipping can be discussed on a PM. If you have a Jazz Bass i like, that is an option, for a trade. Or a TC Electronic LightWeight head.
