1. I last saw them in 2003, I think, at Edinburgh Playhouse. Wakeman was back and they were superb, apart from Squire's dress-sense. I really don't fancy seeing them now, though.
2.
This should sell quickly. Banks are a poor place to put your money right now. So what better thing to do than spread your funds by buying an instrument that's even rarer and more authentic than an XL? Stacker's price looks really good - especially given that I'm thinking of bucking the trend and RAISING the trade value on my XL advert :-) CB
I agree. Remember: there are no plugs or moulds for these basses any more; Gibson destroyed them, for whatever lunatic reason, so there won't be any resurrection of the L, XL or G series. As, Cloudburst states, these basses will keep their value and I know I wouldn't let my XL2A got for any less than £2K were I to sell it. Debatable value? Maybe, but that's for another thread. I'm not desperate to sell the L2 as the 'monster on the horizon' is pretty static at the moment but I can state that I won't drop the price below £1600; it's already a bargain at that price!!
3. Price drop to £660 and case now added!
4. Thanx. We're all entitled to our views on pricing but maybe not on a sale thread. No hard feelings.
5. This L2 is in very good condition for its age. Surely some love on here for her?

7. I fell foul of a muso/studio owner and a musician not associated with a band I once played with. They wiped my Ricky 8-string off one song (due to a few harmonics being out of tune) and re-did the bassline on a DX7, ffs!! A few weeks later, when I finally heard the tape, I could not believe my ears: not only was it a DX7 but the baseline bore absolutely no resemblance to my part. I eventually got hold of that studio guy and bawled him out in public for doing it. I would definitely broach the subject with your guitarist friend, no matter how much he's spent on it.
8. We're always selling stuff to fund something else, aren't we?
9.
I was a huge fan of the Pixies, but so what? They split up in 1993 which was about four years too late. A new album would have been a mistake. They should have left it at Doolittle.
Word.
10.
http://basschat.co.u...precision-real/
Beta, LOVING your avatar!! Brings back my youth! Must go hunt 'em down again and maybe head into Waterstones and buy that FFB compendium I meant to buy a few years back!!
11. Looks like there's some serious interest.......
12. Some of the public schools play cricket up here. Probably better than the professional footy n rugby teams up here. But that's another bowl of porridge!
13. No takers from the Weej??
14.
If this had been a couple months ago, you'd have had an interested party in that area. Strange how us Scots seem attracted to Steinbergers... Great bass, good lunch with the sale
Lunch with sale would be a good idea - a liquid one, perchance?
15. More pix. Will take the 'plate off later and take a pic off the SS pups and harness.
16.
Trades?
Mmm..... nah. Need the cash for the monster coming over the horizon........ Thx, anyway.
17. Will get some more up tomorrow. Incidentally, I am in Glasgow around Noon tomorrow and could bring her along for a quick view on the southside if anyone around?
18. Thanx, Cloudburst. It's also on the Yahoo Steiny group now and Berndt in Germany (HeadlessEurope) has an email regarding its availability. I would have let the XL2A go first but she n I have a lonnngg history - let her go and got her back - so she stays.
19. I'll upload some better pix tomorrow.
20. Ok, something big is on the horizon and the L2 - last in - may have to go. Previously advertised on here as feeler but now for sale. 1983 L2, leg-rest missing, non-original gig-bag. Frets in great condition given year. Electrics all fine and I must admit it is warmer-sounding than my XL2A. Been running .035-.090 which i think is best gauge for these basses. Would prefer local pickup or buyer to arrange own shipping. I will ship but buyer must agree to full insurance. Sorry, fellas, no trades on this one.
21. Correction: not everyone loves it - John Hall doesn't!! Seriously, though, all the best with the sale.
22.
A "you could have picked a better time to join Basschat " bump.
It's Kismet, so soon after the storm!
