1. Oh Hello! Cracking bass, this was formerly mine and I was part of said trade. Plays like a jazz, kicks like a stingray on steroids and weighs virtually nothing. The 3 way switch acts as a coil tap of sorts Making it über-versatile. Whoever gets this will be getting a whole lotta bass! GLWTS
2.
Awesome!
Very very true! Have I priced this right?just curious as I've not heard anything else apart from the above? I am always open to offers & negotiations! The only trade I'd potentially consider is a Squire VI plus some cash my way. Otherwise I'm firm on a sale. Bump
3. Hi All Well I have had this bass for only a short time (bought from james on here in October last) but since having my BB1024x it has become surplus to requirements & with some upcoming life changes this is sat not doing anything... Which I begrudge. So what can I say about this amazing bass? Well from what I have been led to believe these were made in limited numbers & are in fact a Factory Special Run so quite the rarity apparently. Well it's had a few subtle upgrades... DiMarzio Ultra Jazz Pups, Schaller Tuners & of course the Covers added along with some quality straplocks. It plays like an absolute beast really comfortably, quick & fast, acres upon acres of tone and sits & balances comfortably on the old bones ... Of course with that finish and matching headstock it really is a head turner. Of course there are some scratches to be expected with age, but nothing overly offensive or playability affecting. Please see photos. The previous owner had accidentally misaligned the bridge cover so there's an additional screw hole under the cover. It also has a wee bit of wear on the neck in one small patch but again hardly noticeable and does not affect play. It will come with a hard case & I am happy to post! I would like £550ono! As anyone will tell you on here I am almost always open to negotiations... My feedback reflects this I hope! The worst I can say is no Eh?! If you have a Yamaha BB1024x/1024 in Caramel or Vintage Sunburst, BB1025x in any of it's various shades or a good quality lined fretless... I Am interested. However if you've got something you think I might be interested in... Hit me up worst I can say is no :-). So go ahead and ask away. Regards Tim
4. Get off here Mounter.... This is my little safe haven from your type ;-) btw I would say as this post is 10 months old it may be worth throwing him a PM.... That said he hasn't been on here since 11th March 2014.
5.
How chunky is the neck in it compared to the jazz? -i had a 424x and couldnt get on with the chunky neck but liked the sound.
I'll be honest, it's a smidge broader than a jazz, tad more depth, the finish on the 1024 is different to the 424 and so is easier to navigate. Plus the tone is far superior on the 1024 imho!
6. Just bought one of these, they are stunning basses & someone is going to get a whole lot of bass at a steal of a price. GLWTS

16. Haven't got any scales so I couldn't even take a punt right now... It's not break your back heavy but it's not stupidly featherlight either, it's well balanced overall.
17. I am just gauging this really I have got a '62 reissue in Fiesta Red, tort pickguard, rosewood board very similar to Pino Palladinos! I have swapped the stock pickup out for a Jason Lollar 1964 reissue P pickup so it sounds almost period correct. Added the thumb rest and the bridge cover, strung with Flatwounds and action surprisingly low & fast with no choking. From the serial Number it is an R + 6 so it's a 2002 to 2004 model. It's in great condition, wee bit of buckle rash and a few knocks and dings to be expected but nothing hideous or play inhibiting, the tuners and knobs were aged by the previous owner and in all fairness it plays amazingly and sounds superb, I haven't a clue of weight however it's not a feather but it's not a back breaker it's a really comfortable weight imho. I am not in a rush to sell this bass and ideally I'd like to trade for a Jazz Bass (Reggie Hamilton signature would be lovely ;-)) or W.H.Y. Pictures on request. Would be happy to post and am always open to negotiations. Thanks for looking
18. Tis a thing of beauty if I hadn't just got one in candy tangerine I'd be dropping you a line! GLWTS
