1.
Don't try it again, especially with such a lame title (which i've changed) - thanks
Wrist well and truly slapped
2.
Isn't SD something to do with a dildo..?
Sure is.
3. Nearly Dan are playing at The Box in Crewe this Saturday the 24th of August. I keep posting in the 'Gigs' thread, but have hardly any interest,, so I thought I'd try this.
4. Nearly Dan are playing at The Box in Crewe on Saturday 24 August.
5.
That is impressive - and judging by what my cousin says well deserved.
Cheers, mate. We usually have the brilliant James Knight on sax when we play there.
6.
My cousin is a major fan and will be there. But I wonder, and no disrespect intended, how many you will get through the doors at a crisp twenty a time? With travel to central London it would be 35 plus drinks for me...
The drinks prices are extortionate! We usually get between 250 and 300 people.
7.
That there Jazz Cafe website is well snazzy ... and pretty bloody useless. After 10 minutes of digging, I think it's £20 on the door but I have no clue what time either the Support or Nearly Dan are on stage. Help us out here, Pete.
That sounds like the correct price. There is no support, and we are generally on stage around 8.15.
8. Nearly Dan play at the Jazz Cafe in Camden on Sunday 18 August.
9. I think it was nstarted as a kind of joke by a DJ, but turned into a bit of a riot. To be honest, amongst the really good stuff was some total dross.
10. I've come into this thread late, and have not read the rest of the posts. Mark King is among the world's best bass players. He introduced a whole new way to play slap bass. He can also play fingerstyle amazingly. Check out the album tracks.
11. One of my favourite artists ever. I'm gutted.
12. Second gig last night with these string. Again, amazing sound and feel. Absolutely love them. Still concerned about longevity and price.
13. I noticed that, Mike. Must be a difficult job interviewing legends that have heard every question under the sun.
14. We have played loads of more obscure tracks, but they last no more than about four gigs. You can tell people want to hear the classic songs. We are currently playing Pearl Of The Quarter...a lovely song, but how long will it last?
15.
Pete, if you do, ask him what rig he was using on the Black Flame clip on Youtube.... FWIW, last thing I seem to remember about his 'Great White' Ric was that it was bought off ebay a few years back (I remember it being on) by one of the Rick Resource guys who was a huge fan of Jon. I wonder if he got it back?
Will do, mate.
16. I know Jon - he lives in Stoke. The band has been touring again in the States. I'll ask him about the bass if he comes into the shop again. Great player and thoroughly nice bloke.
17.
Jeu d'esprit - Witty versions of Judas Priest songs, in French I'm sure I've heard of a Steely Dan tribute band with a neat name, but it escapes me....
Would that be Stealin' Dan?
18. f***ing incredible. How can you criticize this???
19. I tried a set of Ernie Ball Cobalts for the first time on a gig last night. Very impressed. Punchy and responsive compared other strings I've tried. Not sure about the longevity, which seems to be an issue with them. Will keep you posted.
20. There is a metal Abba tribute called Abbatoir. How about Pamela Motown?
