1. I have various dance routines worked out, but a constant lack of space on stage forbids me to perform them.
2. How does your's work?, Do you get a sudden burst when writing songs? Does it take time?
3. Nearly Dan play at Alexanders Bar in Chester on Thursday 9 May. Tickets limited to 120.
4. He's One of the greats, and always enjoys himself on stage.
5. Black Friday stays on E for the verse. Change is A - G - F# - G / Eb - D - B Then the riff is B - C# - B - E - G - low E

7. I once saw a programme where Prince was slapping. He is a massive fan of Larry Graham. And like most of the earlier American players, uses a thumb-heavy style rather than the percussive Mark King style. Alphabet Street is mainly thumbed.
8. A 60s P fretless for 275? Impossible.
9. A customer came in to our shop today and said he had been to London. He said he visited a shop off Charing Cross called the Bass Centre. I thought the Bass Centre was now an online-only store. He said the shop didn't have the Bass Centre's logo, and was connected to another store called the Guitar Centre. He also said there was a 1960s P-Bass fretless in there advertised at £275!! Anyone shed some light on this?
10. Thanks for the tips, folks. Think I might be having a mid life. The Jazz is safe and sound at the moment.
11.
Do you mean that you are selling the 1978 Jazz to buy a VB?
Maybe I'm going crazy?
12. I'm probably in the wrong thread and will get bollocked, but hey ho. I have an amazing 1978 Jazz, all original with plates and original case and tags. I've suddenly had the urge for a now discontinue Victor Bailey bass. Am I crazy? Anyone got one?
13. Thanks, mate. We usually have a great time on these gigs.
14. Check out his interview in the new BGM. Highly recommended.
15. Nearly Dan are playing at the Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh on Friday 12 April, and at Oren Mor in Glasgow on Saturday 13 April.
16. I might be wrong but I don't think he played on Somebody Else's Guy.
17. I went to see Chic in the late 70s at The Apollo in Manchester. The band were great, but Bernard was playing a BC Rich bass with a P-Bass pickup and it sounded awful...completely boomy. It was very disappointing in that respect. A later album called Chicism is worth checking out. Great songs, production and bass sound.
18. His sound and groove were just sublime.
19.
working in a music store dont you give them the answer they want to hear that will clinch the sale?!
I'm an honest salesman.
20. I know we had a thread about the Nile Rodgers programme on BBC4, but I was gobsmacked all over again by Bernard Edwards' bass parts. Those two guys have got to be the best guitar/bass rhythm section ever.
21.
Did I say that I couldn't take the gig cos I'm out with Cheryl Cole that night??
Never mind April Fool...are you really selling that Roscoe? Are you mad!!!?
22. I always say you can get away with a single note on bass, whereby you have to play a chord on guitar. But in the long run bass is hard work.
23. Working in a n music store, I get asked this all the time...is bass easier to pick up than guitar? Recently, I showed someone a relatively easy bass part ro a song, but she struggled with string changes. So, what do you think?
