That reminds me of something that happened to me many years ago... one of our regular venues was a live rock/metal place of a Saturday night, but then instantly became the local nightclub/disco the moment the gig finished. And of course, the only way out was through the front door. I'm wheeling my Trace stack out, trying to get through the crowd, most people begrudgingly moving slightly, but this one bloke just would not move, despite several very loud alerts to my presence, so I just thought sod it and started wheeling. I realised something was up when everyone started screaming. Turns out he was on crutches and physically couldn't get out out of the way of the rolling Trace Elliott onslaught. Oops.

Bassbros often have old Alembics at very reasonable prices - a couple of years ago I bought a '76 Series in virtually mint condition. It was listed for £6,500 but I part-exchanged a Rickenbacker. I know £6,500 sounds obscene but for a bass of that heritage, vintage and condition, and compared to what it would cost new, it's a bargain.
