  5. As a wise man once said, people who think Emerald is Thin Lizzy's best song haven't heard Roisin Dubh.

  13. Another excellent tone description! That's a good point re: signature bass, the interview I'm thinking of would have been from the 90s. I think by that time he was using the bridge pickup only - his sound on the later albums suggests so, it's a much harsher sound, not as rich as his early recordings. At least not to my ears anyway.
  14. Lido Shuffle - Boz Scaggs
  15. King Nothing - Metallica
  16. I always wondered why he swapped out the neck pickup. In interviews he said he never used it. He also described Rick pickups as sounding like chewing corrugated iron - a marvellous description - and thought the humbucker in his signature bass was the first decent pickup they'd made.
  17. Wolf Moon - Type O Negative
  18. Agreed. I wouldn't ever listen to that Starcastle album above if not for the bass tone.
  19. Pretty MOR album, but with one the finest examples of the Alembic roar. I always think they sound better with a bit of distortion. Absolute tonal majesty.
  20. Coffee and TV - Blur
  21. The Thorn Within - Metallica
  22. I Need A Bathroom - Focus
  23. Can't Fight This Feeling - REO Speedwagon
  24. State of The World Address - Biohazard
