9. Common sense to tune it as it's played, it's just I noticed the red LED showing as I caught one of the strings as I laid it down.
 10. Should a bass be tuned horizontally or vertically? I tuned a bass normally with the strap over my shoulder and a LED tuner, putting it down so it's on its back, I noticed that the tuner says it's out of tune. It shouldn't matter but I'm curious, it sounds different as well.
More bomb jokes are always welcome.
A beumb? ~ Chief Inspector Clouseau Could be one of the switches/controls needs cleaning or replacing, but you would have to take it apart to do that. As it's new, get it done under guarantee. Anybody you know lost a metronome ?

 13. The Music Room in Lincoln had a good choice last time I looked but maybe not the best prices.
 14. I tried to buy the Cuddly Toy CD single when it was new but the 'record' shop got me another version (Andy's records), there were many then, but I rejected it. Anyway, that turned out to be the one I really wanted, even after all these years I still haven't found that letterbox style, 8 inches by 3 inches, CD single I rejected. I have others of course. I even bought it again recently from Nokia for my phone.
 15. Thanks, I'd like to say I get it but I'm still not 100% sure.
 16. Can someone explain in easy to understand words, what these terms really mean and possibly list some modern examples that I could hear? TIA
 17.
ever use glue..?
They don't use solder now it's IDC Insulation displacement connector. Basically you push the wire into a V shaped groove, that cuts through the insulation to make the connection. I moved onto fibre optics, not much soldering there either. To answer the OP, not much cost at all, probably just someones time.
 18. It's when you catch your skin on the hot iron and it smells of roast pork! 20 years with BT here, I've done a bit of soldering. (Not recently).
 19. Interesting, page four of this PDF link lists them. http://www.daddario.com/upload/tension_chart_13934.pdf

 22.
Bit of an extreme solution but get a job as an engineer with a certain well known telecoms company, free 9v batteries for life. Well it worked for me
Telecoms - job for life -urban myth? Interesting website for batteries; http://batteryuniversity.com/index.htm
 23.
Um, if you live in the UK and you buy from Amazon.co.uk you will be sent a Region 1 DVD to the best of my knowledge... would that be problem for you and your DVD setup?
Yes, in the UK we use the PAL system and region 2 coding - not compatible. I'm not keen on that DVD so I'll keep looking, thanks.
 24.
It's all quite Joey Lawrence. ...
I had to read this several times before I realised it didn't say Josie Lawrence.
 25.
This is great ... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Victor-Wooten-Groo...0896&sr=8-1 It really is good and with 5 hours of material included you really get your money's worth. Mike
Looks interesting. How do you get to see it with the region coding and needing a NTSC TV?
