Selling yet more straps! Though this is part of the final bunch! This one is a Levys suede strap in a vintage brown colour. It's only been used a few times though I have had it for a while. The strap is 2" wide and extended to a maximum of 57" so should suit anyone within reason. Looking for £13.50 with UK postage included. Cheers, Russ. -

@Helen S - Personally I would give the Marlin a miss. They are not particularly good basses and often, because they are cheap, they are not set up to play very well at all. If your son is just starting out my recommendation is avoid the cheapest 'new' basses and go for something around the £200 price point if affordable - both Yamaha and Ibanez do some very respectable basses at this price point. Harley Benton are worth taking a look at too. If you buy something super cheap the chances are it will be unpleasant to play and may end up with your son not pursuing playing bass because of it. Spending just a little more to ensure you get something that will be a pleasure to play will help ensure he enjoys playing and continues it for many years! There are a lot of decent basses in the for sale section on this forum and most sellers are very easy to talk to if you need some honest advice about what they're selling. I hope you find the right bass! (There's a Peavey Fury II for sale here for £100, that'd be a perfectly respectable first bass and is a great price so if he decides not to pursue playing after a while you can sell it and you won't loose money)

Hi all, I'm only listing this as there's a 61 version for sale that I wouldn't mind 'upgrading' to. This model is currently for sale at £115 through Andertons, so £60 for my one which has only sat on my desk for a few months with some very minor usage seems like a deal! I have the box for it still and whatever booklets etc that came with it. It still has the plastic sticker thing over the display too. Not a mark on it anywhere! £60 collected or £70 posted within the UK. If the 61 versions sells, then I'll be withdrawing this.

Hi all, So I bought this Richter Vegan Strap as a B-Stock item directly from Richter for £34 (RRP is £56). I contacted them regarding returning the strap as for me the material is too stiff and also at my height (6'4") and with the strap adjusted to my preferred length (115cm) the stitching between the tab with the upper horn pin hole and the main body of the strap sits right on the highest pressure point on my shoulder and is quite uncomfortable. Unfortunately Richter acted quite poorly in their conduct during our correspondence, they essentially called me a liar and told me I was trying to extort them... all I did was open a PayPal resolution asking for a refund on this strap only (not postage costs or for the other strap I also bought). I did offer to return the strap to them if they provided pre-paid postage or contributed towards return postage costs. The response I received from them through PayPal was quite unprofessional and wholly unnecessary. Akin to the rant of a spoilt child. Anyway, long story short, they elected to refund the £34 I paid for this strap and as such I'm now selling it on with all sales proceeds going to charity as I've got my money back already and I don't care to further interact with Richter in any shape or form ever again. The strap is in very good condition (it does not come with the strap locks!!!) and is 11cm wide and can be adjusted from 98cm - 158cm (according to their website). I'm asking for £25 collected. Please add £3.20 for second class postage). All proceeds of this sale (not including postage costs) will be donated to charity - if you buy the strap you can choose the charity (so long as it is a worthy one!) I'll ask them. I think the minor issue is that not a lot of people want to go 5" wide, though unless you're particularly petite, that width really spreads the load very well across the shoulder and back and definitely stops 'the ache'.

I know exactly what you mean... I used to swerve ladder straps like there's no tomorrow but over the last few months of really going into a deep strap binge to find out what works best for me, it turns out that ladder straps are the one! Not having a metal/plastic buckle is a real bonus and good peace of mind against damaging your bass. As you say, once adjusted, I never adjust again. I know my preferred length and me being 6'4" I'm not planning on growing any more so can't see why I'd want to adjust regularly enough for ladder straps to be an issue. The perfect combination for me is 4.5 - 5" wide, suede underside, leather top, 4 - 6mm padding between, ladder adjusted to 115cm hole to hole, no metal/plastic to be seen and double stitched all the way around. THAT'S the magic combination! Trouble is, I can't really find anyone that does that combo at 5". Pinegrove do an excellent 4" strap and after speaking to them they're debating doing a 5" which if they do, then that'll be me sorted!!!

Hi all, (The one pictured below is the shorter strap, however I do have another Neotech strap that will do 51.5" centre hole to centre hole, happy to sell one and keep the other, so if you want the longer one, let me know!) Selling this almost new NeoTech padded strap, these are great things and support your bass beautifully! This is more or less unused, only used it for a few hours. Currently set at around 120cm, but can be adjusted either way. £20 posted to your door.

Hi all, Selling this rather beautiful Crooks Leathercraft hand made leather strap, it's a beautiful thing and feels worn to perfection. I had a strap made by Crooks for my 10 strings years ago, it was around £70ish, so I imagine this one would be maybe £60+ at least new. Asking £30 including postage. Set at around 120cm at the moment but is fully adjustable. A really nice strap!
