I've been known to enjoy a Crafter or two... 9 of the 12 Anniversary Edition acoustics. They absolutely punch well above their weight. I have a non-export Korean Dragon (the one with the pick guard below) and it is phenomenal. A far stretch better than a USA Martin Dreadnought I had a while back.

I'll talk to you in a week or so when I'll no doubt be bored of it! 😂

I'll join, but in a similar vein to @hiram.k.hackenbacker - I have a fully paid up for ACG that's due to arrive in a few weeks, as it's fully paid up and just waiting to be shipped I'm thinking it doesn't count! if the consensus agree, add me to the list!

A good strap is a good shout... I use Richter, Pinegrove and Italia straps. All excellent. Italia seem to have a constant 2-4-1 deal and they are very good straps! Hand made in California to order.

I went from a 4 string Ibanez Roadster to a 10 string bass (Binky) years back, now I mostly play 6 strings, and the occasional 8, 9 and 10 string! You'll be surprised how much more you can express yourself on a 6 string, you might absolutely love it! Treat yourself to a reasonably cheap second hand 6 string (HB or Ibanez), and if you don't like it after 6 months, sell it on, break ever (maybe turn a small profit!) and then use that money to upgrade your Squier Or... if you get the 6 string bug, then welcome to the REAL world of bass! 😁

I know a great guy, but he's long dead, however I'll lend you my Delorean so you can go back in time 14 years to when this thread started and when he was alive. He'll sort you right out.

I concur with everyone else... £100 isn't a steal, these aren't great amps. For £100 I'm pretty sure you can find something else in the for sale section that's better. Or an old Trace Elliot combo from eBay...

It's a 9 string tuned F#, B, E, A, D, G, C, F, A#. So not a dual octave type bass, just 9 independently tuned strings. Basically it's a 4 string bass with two strings on top and 4 string beneath. Binky is my 10 string bass, se as above but with the added D#.

Mine is the GR AT410+ which I can assure you is carbon fibre. Its next to me as I type!

As you say, horses for courses etc. But as I understand, the AT cabs are two slices of carbon fibre with a dense filler material between them to re-create the se sonic properties as a wooden cab. I've been using mine for 3 or 4 months and apart from changing the feet for flatter, sturdier ones, I have absolutely no worries about its ability to withstand practice and gigs like any other cab. For me, there are no losses, just a massive gain in the fact its a mere 15kg for a whopping 1200w of power. But absolutely, horses and courses etc!
