  1. Good shoot actually. In central London. Not many music stores are around anymore. Guitar guitar in Camden, the bass gallery, wunjos guitars in Denmark street. That all I can think about regarding cabs. bass direct would be great if I was closer
  2. Thanks mate. Ive started the search for a used one10. Would love to try one but I doubt anyone is near me with one. From what I’ve heard on barefaced YouTube channel it sounds warm yet articulate.
  3. Question. What are the EQ frequency settings of the bass, mids, treble on the Yamaha bb734A. I have looked on the Yamaha website and it doesn’t state. Internet doesn’t come back with anything either Cheers
  4. I played the exact same today. I’m surprised how much I liked it as it’s active. Truly an enjoyable bass to play.
  5. I just went to try some bb basses at Yamaha. Tried the bbp34, bb434 and bb734A. I have a 79 Yamaha pulser 400 which has a 39” neck and Bartolini pickups. The bbp34 was great. Built well, growly tone. For someone who never gets on with active basses at all (I’m an analogue person) I preferred the bb734A. It was easier to dial in things as everything has a d10 notch. Genuinely shocked I preferred it. Tone reminded me of my Bart’s. made me think, is the tone I like even vintage.
  6. That’s fair. I’ve never bought an amp and cab before only combos. Not sure on any other options.
  7. I know I was going to get these responses 🙈. Maybe I’m just being tight hahahahhahahahaha
  8. Hey peeps, hope everyone is well and catching a tan in this weather lol. I am looking for a compact cab that will compliment the tone hammer. I’m looking for a compact size. The first one that comes to mind is the barefaced one10. Is there any others anyone could recommend for around that price range or cheaper ( it going to be for jamming at home with the misses who plays piano)?. I play a pbass Asian ash with maple fretboard. Chrome flats or dead rotosounds and playing style is all fingerstyle. I LOVE the ashdown abm evo head but it’s over kill atm for home I feel. cheers
  9. Great purchase at an amazing price!! You will have loads of fun with it. I’m a fan of the ABM 300 evo iv tone I’ve played. It’s heaven for a pbass with flats tone. Warm yet it has so much clarity for fingerstyle playing.
  10. This EQ is rather insane. I love me a 800hz boost but when I’ve boosted the 660hz mids on my p bass it’s still adds clarity.
  11. I love the warm yet articulate clear sound you get. I have played the newest version ABM evo. It’s just beautiful. My Yamaha pulser pbass with chromes sound amazing at any volume level. Top top amp The only reason why I’m probably going to get a Aguilar tone hammer is the size. It will be for home use for the time being.
  12. Was great watching you last Thursday. You sat in the pocket effortlessly. You made it seem super natural. The whole band did great is such a hot venue. I questioned my life choices with the clothes I decided to wear to the gig lol. Hope to see you catch the band again.
  13. one of the main reasons I impulsively bought the tickets was seeing herbie Hancock and headhunters lol. I LOVE the albums they did together. The bass player wasn’t playing a Warwick. I couldn’t tell what it was. It could have been a MTD as the headstock has a circle logo. Once I couldn’t tell I just enjoyed the music lol.
  14. He was a really chilled nice person. It was so so hot in the venue. I hadn’t seen them before but when I saw the kind of music they do I just bought the tickets. Well work the money. I’ll have to check out medeski martin and wood.
  15. Went to watch band resolution 88 at jazz refreshed, 91 livingroom brick lane. They play jazz fusion. Really really solid group. Bass player was right in the pocket. If you ever get a chance I would give them a listen or go watch. Really enjoyed them.
  16. cheers at what price point do you start to hear a audible difference? I’ve seen two mic inputs ranging from 90-200 (behringer, mackie and Yamaha) The Yamaha session cakes worked but the sound had a muffled metallic sound to it.
  17. Hey peeps. A little update. I went to Anderson’s to get the behringer mini headphone amp. The assistant was adamant it wouldn’t work and the returns is a hassle so we left it. He was extremely helpful. First time to Anderson’s and my lord is it great!!! Picked up the Yamaha sessioncake in the Yamaha store. Really helpful staff again. Bought two but didn’t like the sound all that much. I'm just going to pick up a mixer and headphone amp so we can both hear what is coming out of the mixer and adjust volume independently. My question is mackie and behringer of the same standard? This is a learning curve for me.
  18. you know you have mad it when they turn the music off lol
  19. Didn’t realise it the new helix stadium was posted here. I posted on general discussion. If people go on the livestream forward to 37mins where they unveil the stadium
  20. This is very surreal. Literally Saturday gone I was going to head to the pmt is Romford as I wanted a mixer and to try some headphones. I don’t go as I left it to late. In London it’s only Anderson’s that have a very big selection. Went for the first time on Monday. Guitar guitar in Camden is tiny in comparison. So disappointing.
  21. wow what bargains. The natural finish look gorgeous. I wish I was playing bass when bargains like this was to be had. I bet the ash body and maple neck sound great for finger style percussive playing.
  22. yes I agree. Only reason I’m looking to sale mine is I’ve now got the nux mighty plug pro for home practice.
  23. The Melvin Lee Davis preamp with DI and IR loader is a shout. It’s has a sweepable mid frequency which is ideal for double bass. Hi and low pass filter (you adjust via computer software then it is set once you unplug). Three amps available including the Aguilar tonehammer and you can load I.R cabs if you are going in ears. I literally have put mine up for sale in the effects thread. It’s very very very capable. I play pbass, flats with the b15 I.R cab sim and Aguilar amp. Puts a smile on my face.
