  1. *Gotta go to make room for new gear so….free UK postage included or collect at £130* *Can deliver if reasonable distance or en route somewhere ..…* I picked this up as a sentimental present to myself as I never owned but loved the SWR brand. My dream was the Redhead combo! (Never happened sadly). It needed some work so I had it looked it and I did some myself. I proudly changed the handle (not shown in pic), cleaned the electronics and repainted the grill. Now this classic sounds great and now works perfectly. I gig tested on a few of my gigs (to be certain) and it passed with flying colours. Crisp and solid tones with the topping of the ‘Aural Enhancer’ doing just that😂! Reminded me of why I wanted the SWR sound. Right. Having said all that, reason for sale? I have too much gear….I use an AER combo, SR Bass Fidelity combo and a QSC active speaker, plus I have a TC 750 and various bass cabs. And extras…a clear out is due. Point taken? 😇 So now I’ve done the ownership thingy with SWR, it sadly has to go. Fire away with questions but know that this classic is nicely restored and ready to reliably gig! Collection preferably from Aylesbury but postage at cost possible. Can be delivered if at reasonable distance (en route to a gig etc..) specs: https://images.thomann.de/pics/atg/atgdata/document/manual/146936_manual.pdf

  10. Good advice! Gonna give it a go soon. Any recommendations for spray paint and is it a case of using lacquer after (or the paint itself is protective enough)?
  11. Wowza!!! Starting to look beyond my pay grade! Some labour of love going on in the above posts! Still thinking that the ‘sand and over-paint is the best option (considering time/cost/my skill level). But nice to see the bravery and skill of the fellows on here! No ‘one-trick ponies’ here on Basschat! 😎
  12. That’s a good idea…but that’s the photo is flattering. At the back and along the sides is quite tatty and there are spots where the paint has come off to show the bare wood. Stripping the finish sounds dangerous (or at least very difficult) from reading about it. I’m leaning towards the ‘Sand and over-paint’ option. 😖🤞🏾
  13. Great words there sir! Much thanks. I’m going to start the brew as we speak!👍🏾
  14. It’s a Jazz style body (with a Polyester or polyurethane finish I’m guessing). I suppose for oil finish it’s a case of stripping and if paint, maybe some sanding and repainting over the top? Total guesswork by me here…
  15. No one does re-finishing🤔! That bad/hard a job that I get silence🤐?……😖 🫨
  16. Picked up a cheapie that I like and have been slowly (and against what I thought I’d do with it) upgrading/modding. Thinking about refinishing the body as it’s a bit…untidy. Just seeing if it can be done reasonably well without getting silly financially. So starting here on the homegrown! 🤔💡 All ideas welcome.👍🏾
  17. Damn! Been looking for one…. I’m still a Badass believer!
  18. Ps: I owned cabs before with ‘whizzer’ cone design and always felt that I needed a tweeter (especially for slap style), but somehow it didn’t feel like that with this… I own better basses now? Ears improved with age? I now use the ‘right’ strings? 🤷🏽‍♂️ Or is it just a well designed cab?🤔
  19. Came with it! Clever idea 💡 🎶
  20. *SOLD* Bought this here for a band but never used so sat in my closet taking up space. Now needs to be moved on. I’ll be happy to just get back what I paid for a cab of highly a respected brand. Checked over, cleaned, played at home and it sounds great! Light, portable (integrated trolley) and comes with decent cover. Collection from Aylesbury or shipping at cost. (Can deliver if possible) More info here: SPECIFICATIONS: Model: EX112 Power handling: 300W Inputs: 1 x 1/4" input Frequency Response: 42Hz - 12KHz Speaker Configuration: 1x12" Eden-designed Speaker (with whizzer cone) Unit impedance: 4 Ohm Sensitivity: 101dB SPL at 1W1M
  21. I’ve been gigging Definitely try it!! I’ve been gigging with a QSC CP8 for the last few years and it’s been really good. It’s also more basic and cheaper than the K series. To be fair this is for either Double Bass or smaller jobs as I use my AER combo for bigger things but I’m sure if I wanted a rig for the big jobs (or didn’t like my AER so much), that I could use the big brother to the QSC or something of that quality. It makes sense to have full range at your disposal. For years I was getting fed up of using ‘brand’ name bass amps/cabs/combos that ‘coloured’ my natural bass sound too much that I used them by plugging into the return input. Until I tried the AER which is expensive but has a nice ‘colour’ (nothing is really flat), and then I gravitated to PA active cabs. Sorry bass amp manufacturers…..🤐 *ps: Coincidentally the only amp head I still own and kept the longest in my buying record is a TC RH750. It one that I could live with (maybe one day I’ll find the ideal cab for it), as a back up. Best of luck in your quest 🤞🏾
  22. Well….it does take a bit of patience and courage (financial bravery too)! However the feel good factor is worth it! ps: not sure if I’ll keep mines….I’m out of space and amp/cab/combo happy but never owned SWR before so had too. The ‘Redhead’ was my dream but never got one sadly. So don’t be surprised if it appears on BC……at some point! Just don’t hold your breath lads. I’m gonna enjoy it a bit😎
  23. Best of luck with this!👍🏾 Hope the laundry comes out fine as well🤭
