  1. (NOW SOLD) *READY TO GIG* *CAN DELIVER WITH A REASONABLE DISTANCE FROM AYLESBURY EN ROUTE TO WORK* Bought this last year as a temporary until I got my new ACG bass. I got the new bass but still held on to the Aria as a back up and a travel instrument. I also now have an travel bass🫣 So something must give…….. Now it’s time for someone else to put this to playing duties and enjoy😊 Still in very good condition (look at the pics…only one obvious blemish) Now with professional mods read below.👇 Description: *It was a passive bass but I was missing my East UK. active uni-preamp sound and flexibility so I decided to upgrade the electronics and so added an East mid stack and Bass/Treble stack. Quality!! *I also changed the tuners to the better Schallers for more stable tuning. Quality!! *Better quality & longer string tree/post added to cover all the strings. *Shielded the cavity to make it more resistant to hum/buzz. *Japanese high mass brass bridge replaced the lighter original. This tightened up the high end, notably the slap sound (especially with the active electronics). Quality!! * New Overwater brand strings! So now it owes me a bit more than the asking price, which I will not cover but at least get close hopefully. Really good sounding, plays easily, looks great and can be used in most situations! **Collection from Aylesbury unless the buyer willing to cover courier arrangement/cost.** I’m willing to deliver if it coincides with a gig journey or otherwise reasonable. Ask away for any further information…..
  2. Don’t think it’s ski jump…. I’ll update after trying longer grub screw option
  3. To quote myself….…”upper region (15 fret onwards)” Read the sentences in entirety not in bits….🙈
  4. So……..: I think I’ve got the relief set properly, the intonation good but the saddle grub screws are maxed out (at least on the edge), but still slight buzzing in the upper region (15 fret onwards). I suspect the Hipshot sits lower than the original bridge so I’m now hoping to try slightly longer grub screws on the middle strings (at least on the A & E strings). The KickAss bass bridge uses 4-40 x 3/8" oval point socket set screws. So I’m looking for at least 1/2” length. **Any ideas where to get quickly and for a decent price welcome….??? Cheers
  5. Got busy for the weekend gigs… I’ll return to answer/update after the weekend. Thanks guys…
  6. Thought: on looking at the bridge position from the side, it’s on a slope of the body. That is because of the position of the holes and the bigger size (than the original Fender barrel type. A good idea move it forward to the top of the body slope? (It has more than enough saddle intonation travel to compensate)……
  7. Hi guys, Firstly, thanks for all the helpful input. Using a combination of the suggestions, I managed to get it to a compromised playing state. (After some hours of trial and error). Notes: *no shim in the neck pocket as this seems to work best. *the action is a tad higher than I would like (to be non buzzy). *……..as I cannot put the neck any straighter without buzz (truss rod trials). *the saddle legs of the bridge are still quite high…. I think the relationship between the neck pocket depth and body thickness (thus bridge height) is not right. See pictures. I personally like a generous height of the ‘neck in pocket’ (not sure what it’s called😂) like my wonderful ACG’s but it must be in proper relation to the body thickness/bridge height at the part of the body. Thoughts? …..to be continued
  8. I’ll try the shim at original place then use some of the ideas above… If no joy, then I’ll shift the shim to the ‘top’ part of the heel (towards the headstock) and try the same ideas. Thanks so far guys…👍🏾
  9. Stock except for bridge. (It’s actually a Hipshot Kickass).
  10. Thanks for that!👍🏾 Will try, will update!!🤞🏾
  11. Hi, I'm normally ok at doing my own setup but this is beating me a bit so I’m seeking the set up pros advice/recommendations…🙏🏾 Hopfully I can explain properly and maybe get a solution🤞🏾 It’s a Fender Jazz 5 string with a Hipshot Kickass (edit) bridge. When I got it, it was already choking (from about the 15th fret). Raising the action didn’t help much. Other than making the lower register thought to play. Same results with loosening the truss rod. On removing the neck, I found a paper thin shim at the heel of the neck pocket. I tried a ‘credit card’ lift at the back of the pocket…made it worse. Also the bridge saddle legs are at the maximum…. I’m not an expert but I suspect the neck pocket is not deep enough….🤔???? Thoughts guys? Any help greatly appreciated👍🏾 ps: added a messy little video as proof… IMG_2055.mov

  16. This is a very nice sounding combo in great condition. I had it serviced a few months ago and it purrs. Though not designed specifically for bass, I was using with double bass or on smaller electric gigs (especially fretless), and it worked/sounded great. Dual channels makes it very flexible as it can handle magnetic/piezo pickups and also 1/4” or XLR cables on input. It also has an Aux input which can be used for practise or to put yet another instrument in. (or bypass the onboard preamp). Tonally it has great yet simple EQ and also a blendable Chorus effect. It comes with the original case (that has seen service and been repaired), I can post at buyers cost but collection/trial available from Aylesbury, Bucks. (ps: priced for quick sale from what I’ve seen out there….) AC-90A_egfispd03_W.pdf
