Bass Wielder

Bought these recently here and they’re great but I decided to go with my preferred choice on a bass I’ve modded for a particular situation. In my trial with them I found them to be quiet and even with low output as described (alnico standard) but much better than stock pickups. In other words...pro improvement. My East UK active preamp has gain adjustment so that didn’t pose a problem. I thought they were vintage voiced (60’s) but even slap style sounded pleasant. I preferred the more hi-fi sound of the EMG for the stuff I’m doing (plus I have more vintage styled instruments available). I also did the series/parallel switching with them and that was great (versatile option) but you can choose either as both ways sounded great. Does an octave below and/or above. Also has an independent boost effect. Blurb here: Octavius tri-tone generator has 4 controls LO OCT, HIGH OCT, MASTER MIX and BOOST. LO OCT knob lets you set the volume of the lower octave signal produced by the pedal. HIGH OCT knob controls the volume of the higher octave signal produced by the pedal. The balance between the levels of these 2 knobs is what creates your particular octave-divided sound. Experiment with your mix, and you’ll be amazed at the variety of effects you’ll get. MASTER MIX knob lets you set the overall volume of your low and high octaves compared to your direct signal. Use the BOOST knob to control the output of your octave-divided sound. The boost function lets you dial in a solo level, whether the overdrive circuit is activated or not.

*NOW SOLD* So instead of putting in a drawer where it will just sit…. This is fully working active pre-amp from a Squier jazz deluxe that I’m modding for my needs so this is now spare. Great sounding bass but I’m an East UK pre-amp user, so I’m staying loyal (and they are definitely the best in the biz I tell ya!) Controls are: Volume, Blend, Treble/Bass stack, Mid and a ‘slap’ switch. *I have added an active/passive switch which can me easily removed if need be* I will add a pic of the wiring diagram so if you’re handy with a solder iron, easy enough to install or if not, a tech (or good mate or both) can do. It’s great for a project or back up bass or a main if you’re so inclined. ps: I will be shifting the pickups soon and will offer first dibs to whoever buys the pre-amp for a matching set.
