1. I'd like to do the same with mine but they're a little too pricey for me.
2. I didn't think they were out yet ?
3. And with the contours, the angle of the original picture isn't straight on but the internet image is. This slight perspective difference looks really blatant but I think it's the same on both.
4. Surely the cost of making a forgery so close on detail to the original wouldn't be worth the bother ? It looks like decent ash, and a good finish as well as the bullet truss rod. If it is a knock off it's a well planned one.
5. It looks how I would expect it to.
6. Add a little external EQ and you can get a Stingray out of it too.
7. It would be great in metal as he can match the down tuning !
8. I actually came across this the other day wondering how low the human voice can go (I can just about do a low E). He should be in a metal band, epic stuff.
9. Why not design your own ?
10. You aren't getting many replies as other than Jeannies, you'd have to get one custom made.
11.
Hmmm, it looks like Strings & Things do sell parts now, like preamps... but not pickups, as far as I can tell. http://www.ernieball.co.uk/c/music-man-spares?pp=8&pg=6
Pickups are on the previous page of that link.
12. Also the headstock decals looked very amateurish as you could see they were waterslides lacquered on top.
13. Played a few at a stand at a music show last year. I don't get what they're trying to achieve as they're far eastern made parts just put together in the UK for a lot of money. They played ok but I didn't see the value in the UK setup side of things, especially for £60ish.
14. They not particularly amazing or sought after, but the brand name should keep the price up. I think £400 isn't impossible I'm the right circumstances.
15. I had a holoflash Q6 I sold for £300 in 2007.
16. I've been amazed at the tone some people get out of the exact same model as I have but to consider is their strings, action, amp, playing style etc.
17. You will never get the answer you need on the internet. You need to play both and see what you want.
18. 50% off and probably still making a profit.
19. Wow, spam alert ?
20. What's this then ? http://basschat.co.uk/topic/228190-lakland-skyline-joe-osborn-signature-5-string-sunburst/page__pid__2356776#entry2356776
21.
Is it as good as a dj5?
Same just a different body shape.
22. 2nd hand Lakland would be a good choice. Depending on your tastes a used Joe Osborn or 55-02 would be superb value for around £700
23. I was in Bass Direct today and picked one up. Didn't play it as it weighed a tonne and the body was very thick, didn't like it at all. Your mileage may very.
