    Mike has a point actually.. the OLPs are more Stingray like than most of the copies out there.

    I saw this when it was last on - fantastic program and well worth tuning in for.

    I wouldn't have thought they were both 4ohm cabs, i'd expect 8ohm for the ABM combo and the same for the MAG combo as they can both have extra cabs connected. That said - I think the old MAG cabs had a handling of 200w, thus a 500w load between 2 cabs would be ~250w for the MAG, this means at high volumes you definitely risk blowing the MAG. I use a MAG210 with an ABM300 head which at both 8 and 4 ohms (an extra cab) shouldn't be able to damage it.

    I'd say no - if you're playing louder than the acoustic sound of an unplugged instrument you won't hear it.

    I don't think the strings are likely to blame, i'd put money on raising the bridge saddle first. If that makes it too high then a truss rod adjustment may be needed.

    The 2 scratchplates i've had from WD haven't actually fitted without modification. They were for a Stingray and a Mexi Jazz - hardly non-standard stuff we're talking about.

    I'm a computer engineer so it can't be too different, right ?! I wasn't aware that they glow, I thought that was limited to all tube amps so I will check it out tomorrow. Cheers chaps.

    Just went for a bash on my ABM - the valve circuit has ceased to function ! The further up I turn the knob, the quieter the signal becomes (since it's a hybrid circuit). I did the best I could muster by taking it out, looking at it sternly and putting it back in, but alas it was the same. Does that just sound a like a replacement valve is needed ?
