1. I love the blue burst Rics and Lake Placid Blue is one of the colours I'd love to see Fender use more, along with Surf Green and a couple of others. Very nice sir.
2. 'Gibson bass' has to be one of my most used searches on ebay and most of the time I get the same old results. But not today... 4. I'd love to get a 400+, if only I had the need for one. That cab looks like a right bugger to shift. It also looks like it would eat your cat.
5.
Dude, who is that chick in your avatar
Britney Spears?
6. Lovely bit of kit there, Clarky. I got a '78 P myself this weekend.
7. I've been trying to get that Divynals song into our set for ages but our singer won't do it.
8. Wow, lots of MusicMan porn today. Nice basses all round chaps, keep the photos coming!
9. [goldmember]I love gooooooold.[/goldmember]
10. If the wood actually did come from Madagascar, and if the wood came through the Suez Canal, then surely this a something that Somali Pirates have overlooked, considering the price of Rosewood.
11. That's really nice. What did you use to record it, if you don't mind me asking?
12. I lost one once. But then I found it. So that isn't much help. Go back to where you bought them. I'm sure they'll be able to help. That's what I was going to do.
13. Hope you don't mind me sticking this in your thread. My sister is in Canada at the moment and there's a bass in her house that keeps cropping up in pictures but I don't know what it is and it's starting to bug me. This is the best picture I have of it: I've done a bit of digging and it looks a bit like the sort of thing that was being produced in the USSR / Eastern Europe in the 70's. Does anyone know what this is?
14. I've always liked the look of a big old Mesa rig. If transportation and storage weren't an issue and I actually had the need for one then that's what I'd get.
15. Bought a fretless neck from Adam. Perfect transaction. Cheers, Alex.
16.
The drummer has a history degree already and is in a stable job. The other two are working towards their second degree's (in music) and i imagine when they graduate next year all they're going to want to do is the band. I'd be cool with it, if i knew i could survive and hold down my uni and a job as well..
Well seeing as the other guys have all been through or are going through uni then they should be understanding and supportive when you come to do it. Universities can be a great place to build a fan base.
17.
I'm a student. Work in a bakery on Saturdays and free weekdays. Should that be, don't give up your degree?
Well that depends. If you want a job that requires a degree then it's an easy decision. I'm sure going to uni and being in a band can be do-able.
18. Don't expect to give up your day job.
19. The Singer from The Ghost of a Thousand works in HMV in Brighton, or at least he used to. They're signed to Epitaph. Edit: The drummer from Reuben worked in Debenhams in Guildford while they were still going.
20. The whole article is on the Muse board as well - link
21. I really like the stock pickups in my MIJ '75 RI. It'll be interesting to see what the out come is with the changes you plan to make. Be sure to post your thoughts. I would like to change the scratch plate on mine though and think the pearloid is a good choice. Lovely basses. Sunburst and tort is such a good look.
22.
Right that's it, my next bass is a Thunderbird. That is a top notch collection.
Thankyou Sir.
23.
Do you have a myspace link for your mate?
myspace.com/qiyama This is his old band. They split a couple of years ago.
24.
Love Jazzmasters, I've got a japanese RI in candy apple red. Have you swapped the bridge out for a mustang bridge?
No, my mate has done so with his Jap Jazzmaster. His has a Curtis Novak P-90 in the bridge and it's fitted with a buzz stop and a mustang bridge. Check him out here: EDIT: I prefer this one:
