  1. I've gigged this - it's an absolute monster with tonal flexibility for days and days.
  2. I had a similar quandary recently, but the commute would have been Newcastle > Liverpool. I really had to think long and hard and eventually decided not to... in my heart I knew it wasn't practical, and I didn't want to be in a position where I'd have to leave them in the lurch. It went against all my instincts, but it was the fairest decision for them. (Note: if there had been a big tour or something at the end of it, the outcome might have been different, but it was all a bit tentative.) YMMV etc.
  3. No offers in threads, please - contact the seller directly. Thank you.
  4. Hello Nick! No problem - ask away 🙂 Short answer to question #1 - I haven't used one for four years, and basically my mind was in R-400 mode. I'd completely forgotten about running the output wide-open until now. Here's a clip of the gig. You can't see the room, but it's a fairly large concert room in a club, with about 200 people in it. I had PA support. Volume-wise, certainly no challenge for the WB-100. It probably didn't even notice.
  5. TBH this raises more questions than it answers 😄
  6. Got to use this last night thanks to @warwickhunt. It's been a few years since I used to gig one regularly, and I've remembered how special these things are. The authority in the lows and detail in the mids and highs is absolutely beautiful.
  7. A reunion gig with my lovely pals in the Peter Donegan Band last night. One or two of you might have seen him on The Voice a few years back singing with Tom Jones. We haven't been in the same room for four years, but it was (mostly) like riding a bike. Full house, loads of fun. I even used a HandBox WB-100 that I managed to borrow for the night from Warwickhunt, too. Win after win after win.
  8. Hi all. Shutting this one down as it's a discussion we've had many times before, and it never goes anywhere other than south (with apologies to Southerners).
  9. We've progressed from criticism of a dated gag about a dustpan and brush to the Holocaust in less than two pages. None's the wonder the world's on a knife-edge.
  10. If you're offended, hit the report button.
  11. No - I was there, buying them. Early 70s Fenders have never been universally reviled. Later in the decade, yes.
  12. ...by people who were paraphrasing what they heard someone say in a pub once.
  13. If I'm listening to Bob Dylan or Mark Knopfler, I love what lyrics mean. If I'm listening to Yes, I don't care what they mean.
  14. I just delete these messages without responding, and crack on with my day.
  15. This has never been a thing for me..?
  16. Dunno what you’re taking about 😄
  17. Perhaps they have a house…?
  18. ***NOW SOLD*** I forgot I had this. It's the factory case for my much-missed MK1. Promethean combo. Only used a couple of times and put into storage. The original combo measured 326(W) x 332(D) x 360(H), so that's the internal dimensions of the case 🙂 £25 delivered in the UK.
  19. I bought a set of flats in 2002, and I've since bought a villa in the Algarve with the money I saved on not buying rounds.
  20. I’ll give you D&C, but Black Mountain Side is basically Trigger’s broom.
  21. Well.. Stairway, I guess. Any others?
  22. As an aside, I'm not sure how 'original' the original is. The words, aye, but apart from that iIt's a pretty standard country blues. When people (not you, granted) have a go at Page / Plant pinching from old blues legends, it tends to be conveniently overlooked that said blues legend probably nicked the song from someone else.
  23. It's canny, I like it. But - as it's Basschat - I'm going to nit-pick. The "Don't it make you feel bad / When you're tryin' to find your way home / You don't know which way to go?" verse was always the money shot on the original. But on this, it's... anticlimatctic. Consider that nit picked.
  24. It's definitely a different flavour to the R-400 - it's quicker and tighter, but it's not 'dry'.
