1. Hi all I recently took this gorgeous 2011 Pearl Blue Stingray in a trade. Alas, 2 bands just aren't for me so I'm looking to move it on. It's in fantastic condition and plays beautifully. The only blemish I can find is a tiny bruise on the lower bout but it is very tiny and takes some looking for. Comes with a non-Musicman Hardshell case. Trade wise - I'm looking for [s]either another 3 band Stingray or[/s] a Std US Fender Precision (Lozz if that black one comes back up for grabs, give me a shout 😉). I'm particularly keen on getting my hands on a Steve Harris Signature model, the blue one, not the West Ham version. [s]More photos available on request.[/s] I'm based in South Yorkshire but willing to meet up etc. New photos added - apologies for the orientation, I've tried everything and I can't get them to rotate on BC
2. I'm sure it would, but I wouldn't be able to use it with all my heads 😟 EDIT - Scratch that, reading back through I must have had too much coffee 🤪
3. I'd be very interested if it was available as 4 ohm 😟 My valve amp will go to 2, but my other amps (like many) only go to 4 and I wouldn't want to have different cabs for different heads. As a one cab solution, I think BF may have a limited market of players who'll go for it because of this.
4. Here's my new baby, a 1993 Hexavalve 😍
5. Well, gave the Hexavalve its first outing last night and it sounded fantastic. Now just to explain, this is my first 'all valve' amp (never even played through one before) so this was a bit of an event for me. It really did have a lovely thick, rich sound. I can now understand what people mean about the difference (and how difficult it is to put into words). I've still got to have a proper play with the EQ to tweak it a little but suffice to say, I'm a very happy bunny 🙂
6. Sold my Genz Benz head to James. Lovely chap, great communication and prompt payment. Trade with confidence :-)
7. That's stunning. GLWTS but I'm sure you won't need it.
8. Proper bargain! Needs some work but a Trace Elliot GP12 SMX 4x10 combo in Sheffield for sale on Gumtree 😧
9. Surely somebody wants a lightweight 2 channel amp with loads of tone options and a foot switch. It's got blue lights and everything!
10. Bought a BF cab from Dan. Very helpful regarding a meet up as I needed it pretty quickly! Great communication throughout. Trade with confidence! Many thanks
11. Had a Stingray based part-trade deal with Normski. Great communication throughout, met up for a shady services type handover and had a quick chat about all things bass. Lovely fella. Trade with confidence.
12. Well, I picked up my 4 ohm BF Super 12 today and gave the Hexavalve a first switch on. Everything works as it should and I can't wait to crank it up at next weeks' rehearsal. Even at bedroom levels it sounded great, but it's going to be scary loud!
13. George bought my BB2. Smooth transaction, great communication. Trade with confidence! All the best with the cab.
14.
I would wager you could buy a new one from Thomanns cheaper than sourcing the covering and paying for the labour to fit it... I would wager it would have more value as a tatty original 60s case over a restored non-accurate example anyway.
I agree. I have a couple of old Hofners including a 1959 Club 60. The case for that is battered, looks appalling and sort of lets the guitar down (which is in beautiful condition). I managed to pick up a used modern case that fitted great for £20 and have just kept the old case stored away for when it's ready to go into a museum!
15. All PM's replied to. Bass is currently on hold pending possible sale
16. And this is how lovely it looks in a case with it's rack ears on!
17. On hold pending collection
18.
Trace Elliot issued an update to the early hexas, as they were getting a bit hot. Worth checking to see if yours is an early one, and if so, has it had mod ? BTW Yes, valve amps require more looking after , than modern solid state amps, but the good ones, working properly , are simply magnificent to play. Congrats on getting your Hexa.
I'm not sure what to look for with regards to a mod, but there's a great big fan that looks like a bit of an afterthought 😂
19. That's gorgeous. I'm supposed to be selling gear and things like this just keep coming up to tempt me! Great price, GLWTS
20. Ouchay! And this is why I personally really don't like sending anything by courier. I'd sooner drive a couple of hours than risk it. I have however just taken delivery of an old valve head sent through Parcelforce from deepest, darkest Devon that appears to have made it in one piece. This was mainly due to the valves being protected inside with bubble wrap and the fact that it's in a SKB case!
21.
Shipping to France ?
I'd prefer not too at this stage, but thank you for your interest. If it's still here in a month I may change my mind!
