  1. The audience look dead, when they should have been dancing. The contrast with the more laidback studio version is striking.
  2. What? (I think I said the same last time as well.)
  3. The first time a man and woman of different races exchanged physical contact on American television
  4. Raves - why do so many people fret about them?
  5. Of itself, it looks interesting, but I'd be put off by the BM connection,
  6. Ah yes, the halcyon days before electronic tuners. I recall the saying was 'close enough for rock n roll'.
  7. That's one of my favourite albums. Chris White's basslines are lovely.
  8. Did you really have to bring up the subject of slapping?
  9. Yes, didn't he say 'just through the fader'?
  10. I never realised Gary Glitter was in the Shangri-Las!!!!!!!!!!
  11. There has to be a subjective element to this. Because I do not experience Labella Deep Talkins as 'extremely high tension' (unless you're talking about the Jamerson set) and I would describe D'Addario Chromes as quite bright rather than 'dull thuds'. YMMV, of course.
  12. IIRC ... the first Dudepit bass was a Sherwood Green Lakland Skyline Joe Osborn Jazz Bass with Lindy Fralin pickups. The second was an Olympic White Lakland Skyline Bob Glaub Precision Bass with a Hammon Dark Star pickup. Someone on here had one 'cos I rememebr playing it at a bass bash. The third, which fell through as a Dudepit bass, cos the Dudepit fell through too, became the standard model Lakland Skyline Decade in Translucent Burgundy with Chisonic pickups. There was also an earlier Fender 'Dudepit' Bass - can't remember if it was a P or a J - in Surf Green or similar.
  13. A friend of a friend had so many basses he couldn't find his wardobe.
