You've been unlucky. Their customer service is very good though, might be worth contacting them and explaining.

Uh-oh D'Addario indeed! I can assure you that faults with our strings and packaging happen very infrequently. I've sent you a PM, we'll get you sorted right out.
See?

Knut Guettler had alot to say on the importance of getting the right rosin for your desired results; here's a pdf of a whole article on the subject, to further our understanding of what it actually does: http://knutsacoustics.com/files/guettler-how-does-rosin-affect-sound.-2011-srj_vol_ii.pdf

I got these on an EUB yonks back, and because I way prefer synthetic core strings I took them off pretty much straight away, so very little play at all but must have been 6 or 7 years in the Projects Box. I think they could well be D'Addario Helicore, with the G, D and A Pizzicato and the E Hybrid - possibly because of the shortness behind the bridge on that bass. My assumption is based on this chart: http://daddariobowed.com/resources/JDCBOW/Files/BOPR_Silk_Color_Chart.pdf Even the ballends look right. Yours for £25 for the experiment.

From a long-defunct project, as I sold the guitar (USA Deluxe Fender Telecaster) to a mate years ago! IIRC they all came from traders on Ebay, at least one from the USA. All the screw holes seem to match, and although I don't have a Tele to offer them up to I don't remember having to mess with screw holes. Nashville Tele is the one with a Strat pickup in mid position; the abalone one and the tortoiseshell one are ready for this configuration. As I was experimenting at the time, I enlarged the grey pearloid neck pickup slot to take a P90. Worked beautifully, but a bit messy as I used a jigsaw at the time! £20 the lot for your experimentation or projects box.

Best bass strap for back issues and weight distribution
The Comfort Strapp has that bouncey thing...going on.. also they wear out & become painfull ive found. I now use the Neotec Megabass which is far better for comfort & design. I arrived at this via' Levys Leather straps which are well made & expensive also...but not as comfortable as the Megabass Strapp for myself. Now im looking @ the Gruv gear Neo... which is expensive' plus they say it has faux leather?...@ nearly £50.00 that is a little trashy...i feel.
Among mine, I have an Overwater one with the elastic section at the front, bought best part of 15 years ago and used loads. Still comfortable, still on the go, sadly discontinued! Had a Neotech, overall elastic-ish vibe with the neoprene, but shock absorbing rather than comedy stretch. Brilliant. More recently got into Mono, of which I now have a few, bought both new and used. No elastic vibe, but very comfortable. Not had particular slippage problems meself. No leather at all.. they say it's the same rubber as used in US Navy Seals' boats! Deffo not a cheap feel. As one of my basses is around 13lbs weight, and I've been a sciatica sufferer for 15 years plus, good straps are essential. However, if your bass doesn't balance well it'll still all sit on one shoulder. Yon 13 pounder balances beautifully! -

Please help me fix a route on my bass?
hubrad replied to DawnPatrol1990's topic in Repairs and Technical
I suppose the other thing would be to get a preamp/pickup set which needed 18 volts - which would need a two-battery route, which would be bigger, which would obliterate the evidence of this foulup.
EMG actually work even better on 18V.. not so much louder, just better headroom. -
Do you know what model EMGs you have? If they are soapbars then all other EMG soapbars of the same size will fit - you might find that a different EMG model would suit you without having to rip everything out.
Quite a few brands make soapbars the same size as EMG, so the world is your oyster and Other Musically Related Items For Sale is your friend!

I have EMG J5s in a fretless Overwater, run it into a Gallien Krueger Fusion 550.. no lack of grunt and it kicks like a mule!

I have quite a selection of such things, built up over the years. One of the best for me, even with a low B, is the Planet Waves NS Micro Tuner. Tiny, so I've almost lost it a couple of times, but it's size means it can stay on the bass when putting it back in the case.
What does GAS mean? Yeah, I bought another precision down the road last night at 10pm
I think you just answered your own question. Welcome to Basschat!
