    Bumping this thread. I believe they went under and stopped producing strings at their Welsh factory yet Picato strings are still widely available and have the UK flag on the packaging. Any ideas?

    Hi Beams are Sunbeams without the nickel plating. Fat Beams are Hi Beams wound slower to give a slightly different tone. Either one should fit the bill.

    Poor show from Pirate that their staff didn't care if the property may be on fire. At the same time, all you had to do was inform them that the fire alarm was going off. No need to be abusive. If you didn't like the studio, book somewhere else. It's a very simple fix.

    I always feel active circuits have this built in scoop you can never dial out, even when boosting mids. YMMV.

    Back in my days etc etc... Just mount it on a flight case - problem solved.

    I really like D'Addario XTs when going down the coated route.

    Not a reaction. I have no allergies. Their coating is just really rough when doing slides.

    I prefer knobs on top too. Easy to glance down and make adjustments on the fly.

    Brightest pressurewounds I have used are SIT Silencers. Brightest flats I have used are Chromes. Maybe worth trying one of those?
